I had my DRZ for 5 years now. It’s an 07 model. Only on the second set of tyres, original chain, sprockets etc.
Apart from oil, filters and grease I havnt touched it apart from suspension upgrade about 3 years ago and the coolant changed about the same time. You have probably worked out by now it doesnt get ridden much.
Anyway i thinking to meself that there must be some thing that should be replaced, checked etc.
Any comments welcomed.

November 13, 2012 at 7:09 am #232448Still got mine in the garage, put a new battery in the other day and she turned over and started first push off the button hadn’t been touch for over 12 months
November 13, 2012 at 7:11 am #232449Apart from what your already doing I’d probably flush some new brake fluid through the brakes. Depending on how many kms maybe a vavle clearance check. I had mine for over 7500km and valves didnt move even after being dusted pretty bad at least once. If its not getting ridden much its not gunna wear out.
November 13, 2012 at 9:05 am #232455Sorry Kak, cant help yah mate, I never owned one for 5 years.
November 13, 2012 at 9:43 am #232462Two years ten thousand km two million scratches – and mine was seriously shagged. Only thing to be serviced after five years on it would be to sweep up the dust a throw it away.

I reckon the rider needs changing, by the sounds of it it doesn’t operate regularly enough

November 13, 2012 at 11:27 am #232472Hey i never laid any shit on my DRZ (apart from durring a few hairy downhills) I just stated the facts mine was seriously shagged after only two years no idea apart from putting any brand of bike under glass how you can hammer them as often as possible and expect them to last five years. We cant even get parliment to last five years,
