Well with the recent acquisition of a Rallemoto Damper for the 690, I was keen to get it fitted up.
Kit as supplied was Damper, 20mm Riser/ Bar Clamp and the Ignition cover assembly (that mounts the pin to link the Damper to the KTM Trellis Frame)First was to remove part of the plastic shroud that covered the Ignition barrell and it also acts as a shroud on each side to protect the Air Box intake somewhat,,
Decided to make some cut lines to remove enough to fit the asembly but leave some shroud in place.
Now to fit the assembly and bolt it up with the supplied set screws,, I always use Tefgel when using Stainless fasteners into Aluminium (It`s my Marine background, I can`t help it)
All bolted up
Air box cover back on
Neat fit
Then to remove the standard Bar Clamps , they were always a tad low anyhow & I had been considering some adjustable ROX risers,, but this is better long term I reckon …
I stuffed around with the bars by hand and left all controls hooked up except for the Throttle Tube (it needed to be rotated anyhow from previous silly setup)
Bars and new top clamp in place
I had to run a tap down the hole for the pin , just to clear the last little bit and allow the pin to drop low enough, no dramas really, the tap went in by hand with a bit of cutting compound
All hooked up with Damper in place
All up the fitting took me a couple of hours includung stuffing around with the pin height :S
I fitted some new Scott Grips and Donuts while on the job and removed the wiring loom I had done for the Chinese LED`s I fitted a while ago (new super ones on the way soon, so a new loom will be installed)
Now to ride the thing and get accustomed to the unit & settings …
First ride is the Toy Run tomorrow :laugh:December 1, 2012 at 8:26 pm #233108Good job Eags, looks the goods as well.

Look forward to hearing what you think of it once you have her dialed in.December 1, 2012 at 11:56 pm #233110EAGLE`02 wrote:I fitted some new Scott Grips and Donuts while on the job and removed the wiring loom I had done for the :Mmmmmmmm,,, Doughnuts Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh
December 2, 2012 at 4:05 am #233111Thanx gents
Well after todays 70 klm ride (blacktop though) I can safely say that the thing makes a big difference…
Turned it up and nearly ran straight thru a corner after having to slow right down due to the number of bikes around (Toy Run) Damn thing didn`t want to turn at all  :laugh:It will be fun over the coming weeks playing around with the dials and finding the right settings for me .
Need to do a few loops and slot in Watagan Creek Rd again , my favourite run
CheersDecember 2, 2012 at 4:39 am #233138I have the same on the Ten Eags, pretty well always run number knob on 5 and the front lever on D. Nick ran his the same most of the time, there was the rare short stint when it was adjusted up or down. Note, some times I flick it onto 1 or 2 when doing long rocky creek crossing to help faster response time. (learnt that after the snowy dips  ) Still ran 5 when doing big red etc.
The real gain from a damper comes late in the arvo day 3 when you are tired and clip a rock etcTB
December 2, 2012 at 5:17 am #233112Yep, That`s one of the reasons I looked for the same unit,, tried & tested on the Tens I reckon
Funny that about the number 5,, that`s where I ended up with it today a few times & ended up leaving it there
It felt good & steady but not too firmCheers
December 3, 2012 at 7:44 am #233143Well done mate. Looks like a really nice install

Cheers BroGonna attempt a fit in a dirt ride this sat if not working again
I`m keen to feel the difference offroadFebruary 24, 2013 at 1:46 am #233114It`s been a while since installing the Damper and last weekend was the first real test for me on it`s benefits.
The 2Day Nav ride to Woodstock & back provided a great variety of riding and surfaces to get a fell for it and play with the settings a bit.
I started out with the setting on 4 but wound it up on the marbly gravel roads to 5 and only wound it back to 3 when I hot the blacktop on Sunday arvo leaving Wisemans Ferry for the blast home,,,The lift from the bar risers was an added bonus that I needed anyway, now I find standing far more comfortable (could go a tad higher I reckon, but not bad as it is)
As TB mentioned, the Damper realy saves you on any dodgy unexpected bits late on Day2 or 3 when I was normally tiring and lacking concentrationI found myself able to stand up on the pegs and go as had as I liked on the Mt Irvine climb in front of Fish trying to catchup after I had walked back down a long way to check on Wigster and James
Install was relatively painless and quick d I am stoked with the decision to finally get one (even more so with the reduced price at the time) 😆
