If the price is right, she looks OK. Try and get the guy to throw that trick stand in on the deal and if the bike turns out to be a POS you can throw the stand through his window.

In all seriousness, it is hard to tell from a small pic like that from the other side of the world.

A few things to look at would be,
    does it start easy
does it have any suspect rattles in the engine when it is running.
does it have good throttle response
Do the wheel bearings have any play in them.
Same for the head stem bearings and swing arm linkages
Any suspect oil leaks from the cases
How badly dented is the expansion chamber.
Are the chain and sprockets in good order

It appears to have the original graphics on the radiator shrouds so that may indicate it hasn’t done that much work. I dont think that they are the original rims on it either.

    Just some things to ponder.

I had one of this era back in the day. From what I can remenber heaps of balls but handled like a bucket. It used to headshake something bad like real bad. Spent a heap of money with Terry Hay for not much improvement. My brother had a YZ250 same year at the time suspension on that was sweet motor wasn’t as punchy but was just a s quick.

Used to ride a 96 with Crash it would shake its head tied on the trailer  I dont think the trail or rake angle was changed between 96 and 2001 it was the time of supercross and the bike was designed to steer around a supercross track in 2nd gear railing berms. Punchy bottom end mid range motor again for supercross, loved the bike went forever.

One of the worst handling bikes ever made were the early alloy framed Cr’s, excellent motor (CRs always did have) but far too stiff lent over and transferred everything to the rider.

Even McGrath stayed on the steel frames for a few seasons into alloy……
