A few things I have discovered in the past few months that may or maynot be of interest to fellow old bulls.

*Bi-carb and alloy, bicard mixed into a paste makes a reasonable aluminium cleaner, brings alloy rims up quite well.

*Melted solution of candlewax and Kero makes the best chain lube I have ever used, thin coating still in rollers after 8 hours of riding, and no “grinding paste effect”.

*rubber band or the likes around the front brake lever between rides makes for a beaut weapon against “soft lever”

*Drilling 8mm holes into the knobs of crappy hard tyres softens the knob and gives it more bite.

*you can make all sorts of neat stuff for your bike out of soft neoprane cutting boards in the colour of your choice

*Endura mix left in a container will make a beaut penicillin like growth after a week in your car that defies all efforts to remove…. (one of my riding companions vital discovery, we shall henceforth refer to him as Madame’ Curie).

*tyre pressure people, it has become apparent to me that people will fiddle with their suspension yet pay scant attention to the tyre pressure for the situation.

Probably more to come but I’m feeling a bit “fuzzy” right now, it’s coming up to Nanna-nap time….

Silicone spray before riding in muddy conditions will help the mud come off and prevent the worst of sticking. It will attract dust though.

Armourall on seats = bad, mmmmmkay?

+1 on the tyre pressure comment above

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

We are the monday morning units of our generation.

    Oh another tip,

Cornflower works as well as Babypowder if not better on tyre/tube changes.

    Tyre pressures Mr Moto?

another one 2T riders please try this at least once before making your minds up.

Mix a batch of fuel up at 25:1 oil ratio, this would be 10 litres of petrol to 400ml of decent 2T oil, try it and be objective see what you think, perfect time to do it is now as summer comes on as the jetting would need leaning down in most circumstances, and this will do it as a side benefit.
