I may join this ride with Tyne if I’m back from NZ in time. If it gets too much for Tyne or we are holding people up we’ll break from the group and go do our own thing :)

The bike’s engines are turned off and the bikes are allowed to roll down the road. It’s quite safe as they travel quite slowly. The road in question is Hayes Road – quite wide and in good condition.

A race? Turn the engines off? righhhhhtttttt, I’ll pack the mountain bike.

Moutain bikes are allowed to join in on the rolling race – as long as you ride it for the entire route. Good luck on the hill climbs!

Either way let me know thanks if you are a yay or a nay.

    Hi Moto,

The ride is a grade 2 – 3. Rogerdodger and myself did the pre-ride a couple of days ago to check the track conditions, and have made some slight changes to the intended route.

The fire and forest trails are mostly grade 2, with only a couple of sections of hill climb that would be grade 3. One is on the section of The Great North Walk that drops onto Watagan Road, and the other is on Lynch’s Trail. There is also a tree to hop over. Keep in mind others will be there to assist. I’m not sure of Tyne’s riding skills, but that’s why we try to grade the rides accordingly.

There is a section of ST that would be 3-4 that some of the keener riders may choose to try on the way back, off Bowman’s Road. Roger and I did it, but only just. Will discuss it at Flat Rock Lookout.

If you can make it, see how the two of you go on the day. It will not be a race meet, so no probs there of slowing people up.

    Cheers,
    TW

No worries mate, I’ll what the deal is closer to the time. Tyne is nowhere near a grade 3 but firtrails and some basic singetrail will be fine. Log hops and the like I can ride her bike over if need be. As mentioned, if we come we’ll see how she goes, if it’s too hard we may try and skip sections to meet back up with you or just go do our own thing :)

Hey TW, can you please add me to this ride?

I’m allowed to come out and play. :)

Subject to new fork seals being fitted by my mechanic but this shouldn’t be a problem

Hey Eagle, I was worried that I was going have to pull out of this ride but all’s good. I was going to trailer my bike so we can either put your bike on the trailer as well or I can just ride with you there. Either ways fine with me.

BTW – my mechanic has advised me that he will not be able to change my fork seals before this ride but assures me that I should be right to ride with blown ones
