BTW – my mechanic has advised me that he will not be able to change my fork seals before this ride but assures me that I should be right to ride with blown ones

Did he tell you how to stop when the fork oil gets on the front brake?

As mentioned earlier, RogerDodger and myself did the pre-ride last week.

Here is a pic taken at Dakar Hill (Great Nth Walk trail behind Mt Warawong onto Watagan Rd). I hadn’t ridden it since Nov 2005 (DBW Christmas Ride). Boulders have been placed across the track in a couple of places. Must be to stop 4WDs. Bikes can squeeze through. Still a steep and loose descent.

Hey TW, can you please add me to this ride?

Subject to new fork seals being fitted by my mechanic but this shouldn’t be a problem

Was about to – looks like Admin already has.

Welcome aboard Kylie. Should be good – keen to see how you go coming down Dakar Hill on the Motard.

if it gets too hard or far, she will ride with me, racy, and maybe littlekato (TIGERTYNE!!!)

Wash your mouth out with soap TW. My DR won’t be seeing any dirt. My WR sees enough of that for the two of them.

The photo of Dakar hill doesn’t look bad at all but I know how photos can distort the severity of a hill. I don’t know how many times I have looked at a video of me and DanD going up or down a hill and having to say, ‘It’s actually a lot steeper than that.’

It surely can’t be as steep as Parachute Hill at Nundle. That hill was so steep that you couldn’t even walk down it. You had to slide.

But I reserve the right to edit that comment after I have done it
