This is more of a race report sort of thank you to my two sons hero…..
Let me explain a little
There is a certain member called KTM Bull, that you all would have heard of and some may have met, This man has been more than hospitable to members at the last Old Bulls ride by opening his home , shed , as well as his friendship to all there, well this same man has for the last 6 years been encouraging my two boys at his MX Ranch Complex, and even taking the time to build a track just for my boys and his to ride,
Today we had a sprint race at our track and my youngest took his first win at this type of event, on Podium his words were of thanks to Big Bill at Moto Cool, his friend for fixing his Barkbusters(we riveted a strip of alloy onto a broken handgaurd because dad had no money)(around 2 months ago) , on the way home I asked why he thank Bill about his hand gaurd and he said he would not be as good a rider if he had not ridden Bills sick sprint track,
For those that dont know Big Bill is KTM BullSo Big Man Thanks from my two Champions …..you are their Hero my Man
As Far as the ride report goes, all had a ball I am sure and Mick and Moose both had a full time job helping out, Thanks Guys the days goes ahead with people like you on board

June 14, 2009 at 8:32 pm #139477What a great day of racing!!! It seems a few of us are proud of our son’s achievements yesterday.
I was very happy with the way Connor raced as well. Moose and I got lumbered with scoring at the finish line all day, which meant that our boys had to fend for themselves in the pits and get their bikes to the start of each race on their own, a good effort for 12 year olds.
Going into the 4th round Connor was in 6th place and the kid ahead of him on a CRF150R was 12 seconds ahead of him.I let Connor know this and said his main aim was to try and pick up those 12 seconds. When the two boys came back in, Connor was hot on his arse, which meant he had picked up 20 seconds on the kid ahead of him on that lap. A great ride for him which in turn put him 8 seconds ahead of the CRF150R.
There was no podium finish for Connor though, leading into the last round he was running 5th in his class (small wheel 85’s), he ended up crashing and his bike wouldn’t start straight away as it was flooded and he dropped a minute there,he then tried his hardest to make up lost time and hit a tree causing him to come off again,he sucked it up and finished the race but he didn’t look to happy at all after the race, untill I told him the kid behind him had issues in the bush as well and he didn’t loose his place in the field. So he was happy to settle for 5th place, his best result in the sprints so far.
The practice the boys got at Bills property on his sprint track last weekend most definately helped with their skill levels but most importantly their confidence was way up there and that’ll make a huge difference to how you race..A great day was had by all I think. Moose’s eldest boy George, came 5th in his class as well, a great effort considering he was riding a small wheel 85, in a class that had big wheel bikes competing.
Yeah Dave Congratulations to your boys, they rode really well, especially Lachlan, he was peddling the little 65 well,he was lapping quicker than a lot of the 85’s!!

AnonymousCongrats to all of you dads for supporting your boys/girls in such an expensive but great sport. I’m sure they will thank you for it in years to come. It’s nice to see you boys geeting out there to the track and being great dads.
Hopefully one day I can give my son/daughter the same opportunities and follow your great example.
June 17, 2009 at 5:33 am #139914It is amazing what we will do for our kids Moto….you will find out I am sure….you show potential, just look at the treatment you put up with from your dog and I think it will be an easy task for the kids to train you
