So I decided to take the bike out for a little ride around the roads around the back of Wellington that I had recently been shown as I had enjoyed it so much the first time, I thought a repeat was in order and so it came that Saturday was nice and bright and so it was off to Wellington for some fuel and dirt.

Just outside of Wellington …………. not a bad little piece of road in amongst the paddocks

From here it was out through the golf course a little river crossing
    DSCN1472%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

Is a nice little spot but would not want to be here when the water was up.
    DSCN1476%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

Is a nice quiet piece of road
    DSCN1481%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

Although some of the locals were dubious of me.
    DSCN1480%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

This road joins the highway and so I decided on a little different route to last time so turned right instead of left and then headed over a nice little hill with some good views
    DSCN1485%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

On the run off the hill I found myself going through a small herd of around 30 cattle out on the road which was no issue in itself until I spoke with the car that was stopped at the other end to be told by the lady driving that (quote) ‘the bloody boss has left the gate open again, gotta bet them back in). So it was to be that I took part in my first ever cattle muster as I headed back behind them and drove them down and through the gate whilst the farmhand controlled her side. In the end we had them all in the paddock and were locking the gates before the boss arrived and so after a quick chat it was off to explore further afield.

Turning right I headed onto a road first shown a few weeks back that I really enjoyed for the undulations and views it offered.

    DSCN1502%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

This road had a lot of these to cross – and man they were fun
    DSCN1501%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

The road was fun as well
    DSCN1505%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

A while later it was tim to stop, enjoy the view and take a few more pictures of the road just travelled.
    DSCN1509%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    The bike and view
    DSCN1512%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    And an old chimney
    DSCN1511%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

A little further up the road is a small but intriguing sign ………………. I so want to know where the money was spend as aside from 200 metres of older tar the road is all dirt.
    DSCN1519%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    Some nice views
    DSCN1520%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1517%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

Eventually this road hits the highway again and so it was right turn, left turn and off in search of some more dirt, only this time I decided to try a different road, which turned out to be q good thing, with some more nice views.
    DSCN1524%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1527%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

And a few plane vortex to add to the view
    DSCN1531%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    And sheep
    DSCN1530%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

Ah, the steed that had got me this far
    DSCN1534%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

From here it was off to look at the old church and hall at Bournewood
    DSCN1539%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1536%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1548%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

There was still a churchgoer or two around.
    DSCN1542%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

The view from the front isn’t to bad either
    DSCN1546%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    Even the DR enjoyed it
    DSCN1550%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

So it was off for more dirt
    DSCN1559%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

When last out this way I noticed these old abandoned farm houses and sheds and being someone who does enjoy the old building thought I would stop and take a closer look

    Found this interesting door …
    DSCN1582%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

The fields and surrounds were quite eerie in a way

    DSCN1580%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1581%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

The old shed was falling apart
    DSCN1594%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1591%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

A nice old relic was around the place
    DSCN1588%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

The DR Seemed to be enjoying itself
    DSCN1595%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    The road ahead
    DSCN1584%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

From here it was off for one more little detour
    DSCN1601%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1603%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

    DSCN1599%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

On the way home though I did come across this kid playing in the middle of the road
    DSCN1612%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg[img]But mum was close by.DSCN1607%20%28Custom%29-L.jpg

Thanx for the time doing the report mate, I went for a drive in the Fourby this arvo and took the missus on some of my favourite back roads out Wollombi way. Not as fun as on the 690, but still enjoyable.
There are a lot of those foxtail grasses out at the moment up this way too, they make for some interesting pics , Good work ;)

You have some double ups with the pics i nthe report, I will have a look at editing them maybe tomorrow if you don`t get time ,,,

Cheers and thanx again for the read :)

Yep, just depends on band, work and kids – don’t forget the Central West Trailbike Rally on the long weekend as well!
