    :P

no not a fake:blink: , but i have been tuning my home made forge.

in doing so i have made a set of tyre iron/levers.

the bottom one is a finished end before polishing and poly pipe coating.

this shows the profile of the aforementioned levers

the idea of the poly coating is for a non bruise / non binding aid.

now all i have to do is do a full test and change both katie’s tyres.

i’ve done a test on an old steel rim without the poly coat and worked as you would imagine a tyre lever dose, it took the tyre off without any fuss/drama.

all went well for the first bit, the “non/anti bruise” coating let go the first time i took it out to reposition it for the second grab.

15062009004.jpg Here`s my attempt at making a third lever/rear axle spanner:)
It`s out of stainless and I used my Ballards Levers as a guide for the shape,,,,

It is a tad heavy, but strong as!!!! And the 27mm spanner on the other end comes in handy on the trail;)

Always handy to have a third lever to make the change easier too,,,,,
    Cheers

Try tempering them. Heating them red hot (not melting hot) with an oxy then dunking them in oil (prefered) or water. you may have to do this a few times to get the hardness needed.
