Well here she is I did not get time to post this before we left for Mexico.I turned up to Bikes and Bits and as you can see Buzz decorated it for me the way he secretly wants his WR.
The horn on the handlebar was the only thing to stay on it for the Mexico ride.
In this one you can see Boonys new Sports ag bike in the background to replace his current steed.
Matt from Bikes and bits fitted the real bling and this is my favorite part.
I have never had a non standard bash plate on a bike yet but this one looks the stuff and protected it well in the rocks at Mexico.
These radiator guards look very strong and brace back onto the frame and should help the fact that I tend to fall off from time to time.
The plastics don’t quite work with the colors and all but they are only on there so that when I sell it the new ones con go back on and look better.
More Later.August 29, 2011 at 7:26 pm #207816Useless piece of scrap iron, needs at least another 40kg of weight to be a real bike!!
August 29, 2011 at 7:40 pm #207817Sweet ride Aaron, welcome again to the red team mate. Nothing more needs be said, you have ridden it you know what some of us know. Don’t let the basket hanging, kilo adding, farm spraying, agg bikes riders jealousy ruin the experience of a new bike and a Honda at that.
Did it have that new bike smell?

Not bad for a Honda I suppose
Would be like chalk & cheese compared to the old WR ,,,,,August 29, 2011 at 8:38 pm #207824Very nice mate!!!
How did it handle compared to the Wr ?
August 29, 2011 at 9:55 pm #207825tell the truth Aaron,
you spent as much time fixing it and trying to change the air filter as you did riding on the weekend
August 29, 2011 at 11:10 pm #207818The only thing that went wrong the whole weekend that I did not cause was the front seat screw became loose but did not fall off. Every other bolt kept tight and I was watching them all like a hawk and they all stayed firm.
The bike handles the tight stuff beautifully and stops so well. It is so much faster forME to ride the CRF 250 over the WR426 it is not funny. The suspension was fantastic and I have not touched anything.. not even the clickers. I am a convert to the smaller bore trail bikes and I cannot see that changing for trail riding unless I get a lot fitter and ride a lot more.. Not going to happen.
The thing sounds horn with the pro circuit pipe and it has unleashed the beast within. The clutch is very light, progressive and as a result easy to keep it on the boil. I Still could mod the engine but I will wait to see how Matt’s goes with the 280 kit he is getting in soon. I have not stalled the thing by accident yet so I am having second thoughts about the recluse clutch. The starter is still set up so you need to pull in the clutch to make it fire but it has not been a concern as yet. The air cleaner set up is the only thing I don’t like about it as yet. Maybe they should change the air cleaner on Buzz’s steel framed WR 450 to see how easy it can be :blink:August 29, 2011 at 11:14 pm #207848Good looking bike mate. Way to much bling but for the treatment you’re about to give it. You tamworth boys sure do like looking fancy. Is the basket on the front to carry the rag after you take it out of the air box.

August 29, 2011 at 11:40 pm #207853Nice ride Aaron! You wont throw that up and over banks like the poor old WR?
August 30, 2011 at 12:23 am #207863I also rode Aaron’s bike and enjoyed it’s nimbleness in the bush and now believe that a 250 would suit me.
Congratulations mate, you have made a good choice and hope you enjoy every minnute of it.Buzz
August 30, 2011 at 12:45 am #207819very nice Aaron, bet you cant believe the improvement in suspension to your old bike
August 30, 2011 at 12:59 pm #207873huskybloke wrote:very nice Aaron, bet you cant believe the improvement in suspension to your old bikeIan the suspension is initially very plush and soaks up the small stuff without you knowing about it.
But at the same time never bottomed out on the bigger erosion mounds when I got a little exited.
I remember when I got my YZ and I was telling revthemonkey how the brakes were brilliant compared to the WR 426. He said they are probably not much better but the sheer lack of weight makes it pull up better. The CRF brakes are on par with the 08 YZ 450 though. But the front suspension on the YZ is taxing in the bush but sweet on a mx track. Horses for courses. Now I just have to keep on working on dropping 10 kg off my own ass to catch up with Honda’s development.
