Elevation 0m to 1273m
Sat 365 Km
Sun 370 Km
Fun Level 10Thought we would meet up with the Old Bulls on the 3 Birthday Bash and ride out on the Adventure Bikes to Sunny Corner fully loaded with all the gear. Of course we went the long way. Mickp and I met Lotsa at Woodbury park at 6.30 and off we went. Through Bucketty and down to St Albans
It was foggy as hell and even with the heated grips on full we stopped to thore out the finger tips and wipe the dusty fog from our visors. The horse never complained about cold fingers once.
We crossed the bridge at St Albans and headed to Colo on the Wheel Barrow Ridge Track & Road. Here is the bridge across the Colo
Next was Mt Lagoon Rd to Bilpin and then Mt Wilson
Lotsa gave us another obstacle to contend with when his tool bag fell off the back of the DR taking out his blinker on the way. Lucky Mick saw it lying there.
Many Hands Make light work
Look at the drop off. But don’t trip taking Photos. & No Planking
This was at the bottom of the gorge.
Missing Lithgow we headed bush again at Bell where we met for last years bash and took the Blackfellows Hand Track. Having a rest at the junction. This place has caves everywhere with cliffs & crags that beetle overhead.
We decided we would give the Bicentenial National Trail a go, Mikep said it gets a bit rocky and steep, but I think he could have put a little more emphasis on how steep the rock escarpments were.. We all made it just… Wahoo. And down the other side.
This guy kept following me
Next was Lunch at Capertee. 1.30. and onto Sunny Corner. Over the shoulder action shot of Lotsa
We found the route had to be amended through Synny Corner as a few of the trails got a bit hard for the Adv Bikes and thanks again for the help picking up the 640 guys. There goes the gear leaver. Had to stay in first for the 30Km. No there was just enough lever to got your foot on.
Sunny Corner Camp. Great night. See the other link for more info. Eagle had put a few cans on Ice for us and even had some extra snag sanggas which were the grouse. Thanks Eagle. It was a bit scary to put some faces to names but what a top bunch of blokes. Thanks for the night.
Home agin Home again Jiggity Jig.
A Quick burn around Sunny Corner but the guys were a bit hesitant to let me go down some of the trails after yesterdays little effort. But I would never lead them astray…..again…..
Across the Highway and down to Tarana for a Coffee. Here is one for the Old Bull Sticker competition.
We Found a few nice dirt roads that if you had a little longer you could explore to more detail but running out of time we headed for home
Did you hear Hampton is For Sale. Tell him he is dreaming.
Do you think I got my moneys worth out of this tyre?
The rain started Near Heartly and we had been lucky until then. We headed to Bell then much the same way home again.
May 30, 2011 at 8:00 pm #202210Great report Gav.
Many Hands make light work…….for Christ sake……..corny line but funny, none the less. 😆
May 30, 2011 at 8:11 pm #202216That road with the steepdrop off and the wooden bridge at the bottom is the Old Bells Line of Road I do believe.
How much for Hampton?
May 30, 2011 at 8:13 pm #202218Oh and yeh gav you definately got your monies worth with that tyre
May 30, 2011 at 9:51 pm #202219Gav, we the real off road adventure riders that did the high country and beyond ride not the trailer poofs that used their car for more miles then they used their bikes rode up the Bicentenial National Trail and the 10 steps section fully kitted :cheer:

Why chose though , just do both !!!May 31, 2011 at 1:02 am #202213Top RR Gav. Well done.
I have a photo of a certain orange bike on it’s side from this ride. I might be able to post later this week.

Lotsa I wouldn’t worry about throwing any bike related stones  until you sort out why your bike was blowing so much blue (oil) smoke when you left camp Sunday. As a mechanic I can tell you it’s not normal or good mate
