I stuck my head out the window to find a beautiful sunny day and it doesn’t get any better than that for a ride.
Motodude72 said he’d ring about 8am if he was coming and I was just pulling my helmet on when he text he was. So with an hour to kill and a new rear tyre to scrub in I did a quick lap of the beaches and fuelled up at the servo.
Shelly Beach
The giant loop on the back of the bike was borrowed for testing purposes to see if I liked it enough to buy one.
A car coming head on for me in my lane just before going over The Entrance bridge made me realise why I don’t like riding on the road anymore.
Was going to calm my nerves by having a swing but some nasty looks from parents dissuaded me
Had to do with the view of the entrance bridge
Met up with motodude72 and went out through McPherson’s Rd at the back of Wyong down Huey Huey Rd and Dickson rd, Mandalong Rd and through the Watagans mainly along Prickely Ridge Rd.
It was slippery in places due to the recent rains and the 4Bs had carved it up a bit. I stopped motodude so I could get ahead to take a photo and he was obliging enough to lay the big Kato down when I had my camera handy.
From Lemon Tree Rd we turned into Watagan Forest Rd and turned off to Bowmans Rd.
Stopped at the lookout
then down the hill to Millfield.
We had a feed and a drink
chatted to some KTM riders then went back into the Watagans past Paxton (the bistro is closed apparently) and along Congewai Rd.
going back into the mountains
near the end of Congewai Rd
Up Rope Rd and then down Watagan Forest Rd to Jillaby and home.
Only a few hours out and about 200ks door to door. Too easy.

It looks moist up there in the Watagans. You couldnt have picked a better day.

I always enjoy a feed at Millfield too, awsome burgers & friendly service (can sneak in a beer too) :laugh:August 2, 2010 at 6:18 am #185135When I see stuff like that it makes me miss my good old Full Reg XT600 I just sold over a year ago but a man can’t have to many bikes so my wife keeps telling me….

Quote:Nice report Lotsa, how did the giant loop go?It didn’t move at all and I didn’t even know it was there except the weight. I’m not as limber as I remember so swinging the leg over the bike and the giant loop was a bit of an effort at the end of the day. Most would ride with some thing on the back rack anyway so no difference really.
Good thing I reckon.

Was interested as I was looking at a couple of them at Sutto’s this arvo while I was trying a tank bag on big ten. They have a smaller one and the big Coyote

I hear what you are saying but she has been hanging around with me for nearly 40 years so it’s a bit hard to let her go
