Well with all this ADV action going on I thought that I mite jump on the wagon and dig out an old ride I did with a good mate in Bali back in 79.

After a couple of magic mushroom omlets for breakfast,we hatched a plan to ride our little Yamy 125 enduro’s across the midle of the island, over a vulcano to the other side ,then ride right round the coast to complet a full loop, then around the bass of the vucano to get back to where we started.

Too eazy,we already had the bikes. Just had to get our riding gear and packs.

    Check list.
pants, might get cold up on the mountain.
    Jacket
Spare thongs, just in case of a blow out,
OK that takes care of the pack, now to ready the mighty Yamy’s.
    Lub chan,,,check.
    fuel in tank ,,,check.
    OK we’r all set.
    On the road.

Then we came up on some hitch hikers, who insisted on a ride.

After a bit of a scufle with em we got our bikes back and took off.

We started to climb up to the top of the mountain but had to make a fuel stop and get our jackets out, actualy geting a bit nippy.
At the servo,,fuel comes in 44 gal drums around here.

We got to the top of the vucano after riding through the midle of viligers with peaple runing out of there shacks and dogs barking n chasing us,only to finde that it had a volcano in it  Go figer!
Vew from the rim of the vucano.

That night we met up with some ozy crew, unreal, one was a bloke that i worked with on a boat back in WA,and even better,he was with his girl frend and two of her mates. So after a top night of rum and good times ,we convinced them to come with us for a couple of days.We hired a Susuki 100 road bike of some viligers and the six of us were off B) :)

Well we did do the whole planed trip and stayed in some great places,I think that some of the locals had never seen a white guy before  They treated us like kings and the little kids would folow us every where. When we left some places the whole vilige came out to wave us of. What a blast,we felt like rock stars
We wound up riding for about five days through some amazing country before we got back to bass. The mighty little 125’s never missed a beet at all.

    Beach some where.

Yeh! we got right in to the surf,I took my own board up there,no surfboards there then. Draging them around on the bikes took a bit of practes, ,we got hold of some staps that you put over your shoulder, but the boards would blow out from the front and try to wipe out trafic,,and us,so we tyed a cord from the bars to the fork to hold the front in and it worked real good. :cheer: we got around to some good spots.
I gave my board to a yong Bali guy that we got to know when I left, he was so stoked. I guyes it was like somone giving you a new bike. :cheer:
