I am well & truly sold on the benefts of using Motul Filter Oil (or similar quality).
I ran two Twin element UNI FILTERs for the Kwaka, had one always clean & oiled ready to go in a sealed plastic tub. Rinsed the dirty one in Kerosene (similar practice to TB`s vid), followed by a warm wash in the Boss` best washing liquid  (also when she wasn`t around)
Hung out to dry, then re oil next day,,,,,

Only had the one inlet valve close on the Nabiac ride (put that down to a flogging in the heat though)
The Kwaka had 20,000k almost spanner free kilometers on it when we parted company :woohoo:

Great vid too btw TB ;)
Wish I had done one on the valve re shimming on the Kwaka before I got rid of it:whistle:

    Cheers

If the degreaser or kerro or bundy or what ever you use to get the old filter oil off, isn’t washed off itself, it will make the new oil run off as well.

    YES, Good tip there Gav;)
Hence the need for a good warm soapy rinse (I do it twice actually),,,,,,

    And dry it completely ;)

KTM Rat used to put his between newspaper and two bits of ply wood and park the car on it to squeeze the water out he told me. Knowing Rat that would be true

    I use No Toil,
    Haven’t had a problem.:)
I follow the instructions and it’s all good.;)
That being said i have 3 filters and change after each ride so i cannot comment on long term aspects.
I like the sauce bottle idea. :)
I assume Adam has his battery powered hair dryer for long trips? 😆

Everyone has an opinion as to which oil is best, I use Motorex, can’t say it is better or worse than any others although after xxxx km’s in some apallingly dusty conditions my valves have not closed up or is there any sign of dust getting through the Uni Filter Pro Comp 2.

I spent a considerable amount of time chasing a quad in deep bull dust last weekend & although there is a lot of dirt on my filter nothing got through.

Admittedly the Silkolene filter oil I use does move through the filter after a long while sitting there but I do normally clean it before it gets to that state. I have long hated the Motul product as it was next to impossible to get all of the oil out of the filter. If the Mo-tech stuff is as good as you said it is I’ll give it a try and yes will give the Motul filter oil a run again. I wonder how I can get hold of that filter cleaner out Dubbo way? Can’t be posted can it? Wonder if I can talk Rocket into a bottle as well.

Axel if you buy the stuff from Sutto’s (cause its close to me and they are a sponsor) I will get it delivered to Dubbo where Rocket works as I know a driver that goes out there every weekend. He has delivered tyres out there for Rocket before ;)

TB have spoken to Whiteboy-Alan-Rocket and he is keen for a container. So it’s 2x 4L (about $44?). While we are at it we may as well get a bottle of the Motul magic filter oil too (no idea what it’s worth, $15??). Let me know (PM) or here what you need from us/me to get the ball rolling for the shipment to go to Pillon’s.
    Cheers for that.
