haha touche! I spotted the verniers and will be getting a set if I get a chance. The garage filler in me wants the generator but I’d only use it for camping and in reality I go camping to get away from the little conveniences so it’d be moot.

ps XY These welders have a copper core and are pretty damn basic(which is good)I have a $8000 dollar Lincoln for the good stuff ;)

Chris the Cattledog on the website is for next week, the verniers will be in the shop tomorrow.

yeah i didn’t mean the core, but was under the impression that the other parts were to be watched, where the leads are attached?

the electrode is a bit sus and the earth and work lead could have been a little longer, but for $100 you cannot complain too much!

    an $8000 dollar Lincoln love0029.gif

I’ve just finally realised that aldi steaks are good for what you pay but I’d rather pay the extra $5/kg for fillets from the butcher

I’ve never had a problem with anything from Aldi, the bacon is good, cheese ok, Chips are tops and the best US style peanut butter ever is there, but the rest is subject to my Motto. “BUY ONCE AND BUY WELL” doesn’t haven’t to be a ripoff, but must be suitable for my use, nothing worse than struggling with substandard gear, it can end up costing more than you saved. Aldi stuff might be hit and miss, but you never know what catches your fancy I s’pose, I will reserve my judgement.

Ollie my Mitutoyos are really close in read to my Micrometers reads, so the battery is good value to resurrect them.

batterys must be dear. When i went to get the batterys replaced in the Rolex watches i brought in china the guy said the batterys would cost more than the watches. Go figure, i was told they where genuine and only 50yuan for three (that worked out to be about 3 bucks each) :S

I don’t have any photos but it will be going to Dans for extensive mods on Saturday so maybe I’ll take some there and post them up. Failing that it will be at Louee in 2 weeks time :)

Is it a knock down rebuild or just some mods.

Mods, just adding some mesh flooring, a toolbox and tacking some bolts in to hold the ramp down better :)
