    Well well well…I nearly didn’t go…Glad i did !! :) :)
Firstly thanks need to go to “Sirdropalot” for organising this ride.
Secondly a lad soon to be kown to this site needs thanking for his Guidance throught he area today..So if your about,” Ohlins 400 ” thanks again for what was a great days ride.
Gotowo..Well met! Your company was awesome mate. I enjoyed your outlook, your easy going manner too. I look forward to riding in your company again. Mike and Thomas,Ditto. A shame the yammy gave up the day…next time will be better no doubt. IN all..I hade a great day. I also came to the conclusion I need a second bike, somewhere around the second loop. After busting my very limited reserves of Stamina, Strength and all things similar, I have succumed to the belief the Husky 610 is too much bike for fast slippery Mountainous Runs like this.Seriously, it’s more like a round of WWF than bike riding at times. Sooooooo, in a cuppla years..new bike..again. :woohoo: :woohoo: I wont go into too much detail of the ride other than to say, i had a ball! HUGE erosion mounds..some right on the entrance to a corner, with a nice lil drop off on the outside of the bend. ” Sirdropalot” stepping away from his bike, and into thin air..  “Sirdropalot” checking out the fencing in the Area, Gotowo inspecting the the Gravel and incline from a close up perspective,”Ohlins400″ curling his gear shift on a RUT”, me Destroying my boots by hitting a log. All of which was heavily outweighed by the sheer fun of the run. We saw Mountains, we rode over the Mountains! we saw More mountains…so we rode over them too. We saw Ruts, big deep ruts…which everyone rode through, ‘cept me..I bounced over them and anything else in the area. Old Bulls…we just had a shit hot time!! We got photo’s..some will be posted later. I’ll leave that and a more general description of our day to the others..By the way..I gots an Idea they’ll be posting tomorrow but..LOL..we oldies are a tad cramped and battered!… Again Sirdropalot, Ohlins 400, Gotowo, Mike and son Tom..Thankyou all for an enormous day out!! cant say it enough. Sirdropalot, I’ve added a karma to your board..for organising such a wicked run, also for draggin me along with you.

Must say too…Top young Bull that one!! Met some others out there today too, a few young local kids 10 -14 ish. We all came across a dropped tree, managed our way around it, on the 2nd loop, those young lads had gone home, got a chainsaw ( Husky of course) And an ATV came back up the hill cut up said tree and got help from a few Cage runners to shift it. How goods that!!?

Thanks for your comments Husky. I had a blast leading you all around but I guess I was a little worried about leading you all up the garden path as I am still trying to learn some of the trails in that region myself. Today helped though and while riding, I was trying to put the trail puzzle together with the goal of eventually leading a continuous ride from Glastonbury area through to Imbil…… a lot of work to do yet! Anyhow, I really enjoyed meeting you all and I’ll keep you posted on other rides in the area.

    Stay safe,
    Pete

Ok being one of or maybe the only granddad out there today I had to have a rest before posting:blink: (A good excuse that I use because I can:P ). Firstly thanks to everyone for turning up and making it a great day out in the sun. Special thanks and karma to Peter(Ohlin XR4), and welcome to the site mate:), for leading us around as I think we would have got lost a bit without you:lol: . Thanks to the young guys mentioned above for showing us the youth of today aren’t all bad:cheer:, well done lads. Thanks to Tom for trying to help get my great lump of a body back up the hill after I stepped backwards into thin air:blush:. Ok ride report time, day started with us meeting and greeting at the Amamoor store. We then moved onto a grassy area down the road to unload and suit up.

First bit of trail had me wondering if I had already picked up a flat as bike was slipping and sliding and moving around like I was on flats. I then discovered that the erosion mounds were not built by a bike friendly person as they were like hitting brick walls(and may have contributed to Mike’s early demise:( ) and were so steep some of us were spitting off them in all sorts of funny ways:S. On the way down a hill I overshot a corner as I was really struggling with grip level and confidence:dry: and ended up getting up close and personal with a barbwire fence. I ended up stuck between the bike and fence and managed to melt my pants to my pipe big time(should be fun to clean pipe:S ) That was the first off of the day so lived up to my username:lol:. Same loop had us at the tree the young lads cut and removed before 2nd loop as Husky said above. Ohlins and Mike got around then it was gotowo’s turn and he got a little bit close to edge and slid down, I got off my bike to help him and after putting stand down promptly stepped backwards straight off the edge:blush: as mentioned above needed assistance:huh: . Had another ‘lose balance’ off after a little incident with loose pants and bumbags(Had to be there;) ). Husky’s take on the hills was as he said plenty of them and some quite challenging ones with rocks, ruts and to top them them off some had very long grass hiding all the obstacles:blink:. All in all I had a bloody fantastic day despite the occaisional obstacles and can’t wait to get back to those not so friendly erosion mounds:laugh:. Pics to come:silly: .

Some pics of the day we were never riding when the cameras come out so just pics of the scenery, which there was plenty of.

Our first stop was at an old fire tower and the view from there was a complete 360 degree view into the distance.
    amamoor005.jpg
    amamoor006.jpg
A little further along the track Mike’s forks let their oil out bringing his day to an end:(
    amamoor007.jpg
Took the chance to get a photo of the lads and the track we had come down while Mike tried to fix.
    amamoor009.jpg
    amamoor008.jpg
We didn’t have tools to do a fix so Mike head back to car while the rest of us finished the loop. Back to cars for lunch to find Mike loaded up and his day done:( .
    amamoor010.jpg
Second loop had me picking up what looked like half a sheep in my rear sprocket:dry:.
    amamoor011.jpg
Another spot where the view was amazing so stopped for pics.
    amamoor014.jpg
    amamoor012.jpg
    amamoor013.jpg
Rode into a heavily canopied area so stopped for pic although it doesn’t show how enclosed we really were:(.
    amamoor015.jpg
Climbed up a quite ugly hill with lots of rocks, ruts and as Husky610 discovered logs to avoid and discovered some ‘pebbles’ laying around.
    amamoor016.jpg
    amamoor019.jpg
Gotowo and Husky610 climbed up on one to contemplate the world as we know it(and to get a good look at the view;) ).
    amamoor018.jpg
    amamoor021.jpg
Standing on a ‘pebble’ looking down on the track, little did we know that just out of sight was a rutted downhill from hell which was to be Gotowo’s enemy of the day:S .
    amamoor024.jpg
And finally a pic of bikes parked on one of those can’t see a lot grass tracks:) .
    amamoor023.jpg
Next time we will have to try and get some action pics:side:
Again apologies for blue tinge pics camera seems to do what it wants as I never changed settings but last lot of pics were fine:S .
Excellent day, excellent blokes to ride with and can’t wait for more exploring there or anywhere in the future:) .

Wasn’t teh Fork seals Moto..It was from the Base of his fork leg? Maybe something wasn’t quite right after the work done? Was sad though to loose a rider on a day like that.
