AnonymousOh! That doesn’t sound good
March 9, 2009 at 5:05 am #125135Not at all. Sadly we had to stand around like a pack of D#$%@^& And watch the fluid drain away…oh for a backup truck ….like they use iin dakar with mech’s and all the gear..
March 9, 2009 at 5:12 am #125069OK..now to try again with Photo’s. Seeing as we all stopped at same place and did our Impersonation of Japanese tourists, our Photo’s are all much the same..so I dont have much that Sirdropalot doesnt . but here goes anyway.
These are on the hill, where the tree was blocking the path, Ohlins ripping out that dead stinking mass in Sirdropalots wheel..
Just before this was taken, I took my boot out on a log..tore open the side of the boot…I’ll find out tomorrow if the boot is reapirable or terminal. He he..not even a dozen rides..good thing i wasn’t riding in my Volleys eh?March 9, 2009 at 5:15 am #125140The photo’s of the trees..this is the canopy that Sirdropalot was talking about. not 200 meters before this, the track was very closed in, the trees looked like something out of ” Lord of the Rings” with all of them growing Long tuffts of Moss..Was very similar to some valley’s in the nth qld tablelands. In fact a fair amount of this area reminded of the Atherton area.

I agree about the landscape I spent a month working on a dairy farm which backed onto the rainforests up at Atherton and was very much like what we seen yesterday……..in fact if we were riding today with the rain it would be an Atherton exact replica:cheer:.
March 9, 2009 at 8:55 am #125070Thanks to all for making “Amamoor exploration” a great day. Sirdropalot and Husky610 have done an excellent ride report so I wont repeat. Ive added extra photos here showing scenery and faces. How’s your shoulder today Huski610. This guy has a shoulder that regularly dislocates itself. He was on the anti-inflamatories and painkillers to get through the day. Full credit to you mate but hope your not paying the price now. I was absolutley buggered, in fact still am leg and shoulder muscles are suffering. Having some trouble with photos not sure if it will turn out OK.
March 9, 2009 at 8:58 am #125071Well I stuffed that up didnt I, sorry. And that took for ever to do.

Good to hear you enjoyed the day Gotowo, hope the trip home was ok as we were watching a lot of traffic heading south with you. Poor old husky610 had to put up with me sneezing and sniffling all the way home as I think all the dust kicked in:S . His shoulder was definately feeling it when we got back:( . I thought I would fix this pic for you Husky it was just missing something:blush:.
March 10, 2009 at 4:53 am #125173I think it needed to yell louder mate…we didnt hear you?
Sorry buddy..is kinda lame when your riding mattes didnt realise you went for a short drop..
Hows the body? Aches and pains? Ohh..on the pants..mate, if they aren’t gone by next ride..I’m gunna bring some leccy wire and tie them up…It’s deadset not good to come drifting around a bend only to have your crack shinning the way…
March 10, 2009 at 4:57 am #125167Gotowo..it’s all good. Lotsa pain yes…but it’s a small price to pay for such a day. I’d not think a sec. before going out to do it all over again.(i got GOOD pain Meds just for this purpose. :silly: ) One thing though..I’m going to reset my bike to harder suspension settings again before i do. The bike may have been a lot more “Comfy” but was like a wet sponge in the handling dept.
March 10, 2009 at 6:08 am #125072Huski610………. My DRZ400 felt a bit the same but I havent made any suspension adjustments since new. There is a good thread preparation tips titled Setting your suspension sag may be worth a look. I’m going to do that as soon as I clean the bike. Firstly I’ve got to walk properly because I think I’m in more pain today than yesterday.

Mate one thing for sure, if your NOT fit when you decide to go back riding..It Hurts heaps!! I done a couple of those long day rides now and I still feel it big time. Best cure, believe it or not, is get on the bike and go for a ride over a local track. do some stand up sit down kinda of things and you’ll free up abit.I stood n the Wind and rain Yesterday and cleaned my bike.>Well washed it off would be a beter description for it. I have some numbers here for setting sag, I’ll get into it when the rain goes.

Yeah not being fit isn’t a lot of fun:huh: and after seeing this pic taken by gotowo I now know I really am not fit  .
As for cleaning bike I have been so busy at work since that mine still looks as is……the most I have done is take air filter out and see how it went as I was still running the readyfilter. This weekend will be clean up time if it stops raining:blink: . Ok as I am posting and I have some pics here that gotowo sent me I will put them up for him as he had some troubles.
Now I appear to be waving here although I can say I never seen gotowo taking pics so I must just ride along waving my arms around :S .
March 20, 2009 at 9:28 pm #125073Great ride report and pics guys!! Looks like really good riding country up your way. We should get an old bull ride going up that way sometime.:woohoo: Hope the fork leg wasnt terminal!!
