A fun 70kms around Bago was had by a crew of 7 riders today.
The crew was…
Micknmeld XR650
Tripper XR600
Moose XR600
Gizza Kato 250EXC
Dean (itsagas) Gasser FE450
Graham WR250
Ned TTR250A mix up at a corner saw us have to double back and find a rider early in the piece, we had only just regrouped and old RiderX appears with Jay in tow,who was shaking his head after some early morning RiderX bootcamp.
A bit of a yak and we were on our way ,after I told X to stick his invitation to follow them up his bum. I wasn’t in the mood for Erzberg or any of his shananigans. We headed into Cowarra for a quick blast down to Old Bottle Butt, a tree that still amazes me everytime I see it.
There are some great little loamy trails around there in the rainforest section.
From there my day took a turn for the worse, as I was motoring up a trail , I didn’t see the small log poking out onto the trail and collected it with my crook ankle.
MAN!!!! didn’t that hurt, I came to a stop and just laid my bike on its side and proceed to roll around on the ground like a shot dog, not even able to speak, I immediently thought my ankle was broken. After a minute or two it settled a bit and I was able to stand and hobble about. I reckoned I’d be right to continue on the ride, although it is now all swollen and I have a ice pack on it.I got the XR to go and we headed off again and it soon became evident it hurt to stand on the pegs which stuffed me up for most of the day as I spent a heap of time sitting down.
I did get some pics though so I will let them tell the story.
Tripper on the first hill of the day that gave some people some grief
Dean heading back to the bottom to try the hill again, after coming to a stop on his first attempt.
Gizza and Dean on the hill
Graham normally always looks in control but he was a bit out of shape in this shot
Ned peddled that little TTR hard all day
Moose doing what Moose does.
We found a bit of an obsticle
Tripper doing what Tripper does.
No way round,, so we built a bit of a bridge and this is a rare picture of a council worker actually working on a bridge. Dean shows of his handy work
Now to test it,who better to use as a test dummy, than Tripper
That held up so,Ned gave it a go
Gizza needed two attempts, not enough speed on his first run
2nd go
Moose had no worries
With a bit of revving and snorting .The 6fiddy made it
Graham made it look easy
So did Dean
Styling
More pics and story later.
August 16, 2009 at 10:02 am #148505Nice littl Blat around there Mick;)
Good pics too,, Did I actually see one of Moose without that painted on Smile???
Nah, can`t be right:laugh:August 16, 2009 at 10:31 am #148511part two.
There are some really good creek crossings to be had if you know were to look
Moose was nearly to fast for me.
Gizza At the top of another hill.
This is steeper than it looks.
Gizza had a moment on this hill
Fall down ,go boom
After we had our fun with Gizza,Tripper gave him a hand.
Look out Gizza, nothing worse than being roosted by your own bike…LOL
Tripper got it to the top.
Dean’s trials skill show sometimes.
With Ned at the controls ,the TTR just kept on keeping on. He can peddle that thing and pulls a sweet wheelie or two.
Graham can ride all day and not get dirty
A rest for Gizza after the hill.
Thanks for the company boys it was a blast.
