Boony you are right – a ride is only what people make of it. For those that bitch and moan about what you have organised just smile politely and tell them that you are looking forward to the ride that they are going to organise.

Anyway on an Old Bull ride/weekend the riding is only a small percentage of it. It’s more the brother/sisterhood thing that makes the whole experience.

Sorry Eagle! We should have rang you but what DanD didn’t say was that we only decided at 9pm on the Saturday night to do it.

I would love to do it again but I have to say that I think I enjoyed it so much because of the pressure we had with the time. We knew we were cutting it really fine to get back by 1pm and pick up the kids so I knew that I had to go as fast as I could (and without any fall offs too. They take up too much time.)

On the way to the Roadhouse I thought I was riding a bit quicker and actually said to DanD at the Roadhouse was that my plan was to go faster on the way there so that I could cruise on the way home. There were 2 problems with this though. 1. I had some of DanD’s Mother at the Roadhouse and 2. DanD actually stuck behind me most of the way back.

Both of these things apparently make me get up and go. I had an absolute ball on the way back and where I normally back off a bit when going down hills I was actually speeding up and doing heaps of jumps which was really fun.

That track from Laguna through to Putty Road is now my favourite run. I can’t wait to do it again.

BTW the boots were great. Compared to the Oneals I had a couple of years ago they are fantastic. The pivot pegs I wasn’t real fussed on at first but only on the uphills then I worked them out and was heaps happier with them. So I am all set for Nundle now (except for new tyres but we’ll work that out soon).

Also, what would have been great on this ride was heated hand grips. DanD had fitted them to my bike but not actually connected them. How sucky is that? All’s good though because they are now ready to go.

    Nearly at Nundle.

    well D’s
Sounds like a top morning out with the natural terrian, good to see Mrs D’s is get the pace going now on the new 250, all you needed way a watercraft for the afternoon and the day was complete.
Dirt & water in the morning, water Water & Sand in afternoon to clean the mud off that a sunday completed with the toys in the north coast area.

Great job guys keeping the trails warm over winter in the North there.

    Cheers

Oh BTW I think DanD might have exaggerated a little bit considering the night before he told me that ‘I better go a bit slower for you tomorrow’.

Also, keen to do another Wiseman’s ride but would like to see if we could add more interesting sights into it. Could be an exploratory ride is needed.

I really like it Mick. I was looking at the BMW’s not long ago but DanD turned me off them. Also TB says I have to be able to pick it up if I drop it so I am going to start rock climbing (indoor) to work on my upper body strength.

    Where there’s a will there’s a way.
