As I seem to be in an attention seeking and “hey everybody, look at me” mood at present, I thought I’d roll with it and post some more pics of ME.

Circa 1980. With hair like this, I never needed to wear a helmet. I never liked wearing boots, so I always wore my red ISDE socks and Dunlop Volleys (offroad version, of course)

A friend up at Mudgee reckoned he could outjump me for height and length. Here is a shot of me proving him wrong. Unfortunately he could probably outbrake me, as I wasn’t able to pull it up in time to prevent hitting that shed in the pic. Note the offroad Volleys and favourite socks.

Yes but you did have a nice green kidney belt.It was a while back wasn’t it Nigel? Before the days of the PANIC rev?
    What was that a RM125X?

At least I still don’t wear boot savers! :)

A panic rev wouldn’t have helped me stop. I even tried front wheel braking whilst in the air to retard my forward progress, but strangely, that had no effect either. It was an RM125 not sure of the model. It was the first one that was watercooled.

That’s an “X” alright, great bike, no brakes though I raced two of it’s little brothers, the RM80X & RM80XZ they weren’t W/cooled for another year, also had it’s later version the “RM125D” a brilliant bike that ate anything in it’s path and gained me a lot of Cred, made me somehow look & perfrom like an “A” grader apparently.
Nasty looking shed too, woulda been a bit going through your mind at that stage i would imagine?, anything that doesn’t kill us makes us stronger so they say
I too remember Anthony Gunter, Pelle’ Granquist and the like and took a bit of training from Stephen Gall back before it was an “academy”, was just a travelling school then
