So with more tracks to be explored I woke this morning a decided to head out and see what more I could find in the little area I had been exploring of late, as well as to see if I could find certain ‘items of interest’ that I had seen when looking at the region on Google Maps.

But first to revisit a few tracks I had already visited just to see where they ended up, and while I didn’t quite find the end of one of the tracks I was happy to save it for another day when company is at hand to help me recover when (not if) I fall, although e ride to where I stopped was bloody great fun.

This is the track that I still have to do, but as is usual the pictures do not do justice with the surface being far rougher and slippery that the pictures make it seem.

And a few of the track just travelled and while we always say it, the pictures do not do justice to the track itself but it had a few deep ruts that made me think carefully (as one with my lack of ability does from time to time) 😆

The video shows the ruts and holes a little better, as well as a lot of the local undergrowth given I kind of got offline

Once back at the tope it was off to explore some more tracks which were found, ridden and had their own little highlights

    The views were sensational

Mind you, the DR went all shy and decided to try to hide in the shade ;)

From here it was yet another case of follow this track, follow that track and I eventually emerged at a little place of interest that I had found on google.

Yes, the place of interest is just a little dam in the middle of nowhere.

The DR at rest on the flood channel.

Lucky for me there was no flood

Now, one thing is certain, the DR is not one of these

When riding in places like this!!

And just a little video of the region
    FILE0003-S.jpg

After a bit of a rest and enjoying the tranquillity of the place it was off to find more tracks to explore and explore I did with some interesting tracks found.

Again this was steeper and harder than the video looks and was actually quite a little test this time, but next time ………
    FILE0005-S.jpg

It was then down to the causeway to explore a few tracks on the other side but unfortunately I tried the two that were definitely no through roads, but for differing reasons.

    FILE0007-S.jpg

Once back at the causeway I ran into a couple of guys who had just come in another track (in memory bank) and enjoyed a bit of a blat around the track with them before really starting to feel my lack of fitness and deciding to leave them to their fun and head out. But I did take a slight detour on the way.

I would like to say that I rode up the ledge at the bottom of the above pictures ………………………………. but I didn’t given the level of scrape marks around from bikes and cars alike that had tried and failed, so I decided discretion ruled.

And then it was out, although there is still plenty of water laying around

    The DR contemplates.

From there it was onwards and homewards as my muscles (what few I have) really started to let me know that I had been riding and having fun, perhaps too much fun but that will be determined tomorrow morning when I wake up.

A big thanks to the two guys I met in the bush as well as I may now have guys to ride with as they were happy to have a pure gumby tag along and did provide contact details for another time.
