Got a phone call around 1.pm this arvo from “Sirdropalot” wanting to know if I was up for a ride?? Likw ..Yeaaaaaa. Anyway we went back up to the Churchill mines area, went looking around at the quarry then took off to see if we could work out where exactly we were in relation to few other spots in the district. We’ve had a fair amount of rain in the area over the last couple of days so we encountered a fair aount of ” puddles”. Puddles that for some reason always seem to be POOLS more so than puddles. Some of these were rather frkin deep too, with slop to help fill the free space in the “Boots”. My day was awesome, I missed a couple of corners, drowned in a wheel rut, frightened myself Stupid by hitting a “stepup” too quickly and got close to flipping the show. “Sirdropalot” didnt drop the bike,He hit a couple of hills at the Quarry and seemed to enjoy the tracks around it. After messing around for a bit there we decided to head off and see if we could find our way around abit. We finally found our pont of interest at the same time we realised “Sirdropalot” had scored a Flat.Bummer.
But at least now we know we have a circuit that can run out at around 160 klm’s and go from beginner to decent +. 4×4 tracks to single, tight, on the side of a mountain tracks. After riding out to teh bitumen heading towards “Sirdropalot”‘s home, i took off back home via the Churchill mines rd. Halfway accross it turnedouit to be pouring rain, hardpacked red clay and black clay . Today I rediscovered the “art” of playing with the clutch to help “DRIVE” out of corners…in a mental kind of way..being a public road.
I will not try to justify it..I did TRY to behave..But..:woohoo: :woohoo: :silly:
