Hello all just finished my Tenere.
Tekniks suspension upgrade and Cush hub mod.
B & B bash plate, radiator guard & rear rack.
    Pivot pegs.
Off The Road crash bars, centre stand and a bunch of other stuff.
    Waiting for steering dampener.

Also painted the grey plastics, what do you reckon?

Nice work mate. I love what you have done with the grey plastics. Where did you get it done or did you do it yourself?

    (It’s given me an idea).

Thanks mate, I think it looks alright. I always thought the blue ones looked a bit weird around the tank area due to the grey plastic….no offense.
I think the grey one look good because tank and plastic are all the same colour.
I repair repairable writeoffs (we do expert repairs unlike some) as a bit of a sideline with a mate who it a panel beater and spray painter….so there’s your answer.
The blue Yamaha paint is very hard to get off the shelf as there many variations of Yamaha blue and Yamaha don’t provide a paint code on the bike like a car. I had it made up by matching it to the front mudguard.
There’s also a bit of a process in painting plastic, you need to apply a special plastic primer first then undercoat then the base coat (that’s the blue) then the top clear coat.

What do you reckon yellow would look like on the grey plastics, to match the tank sticker>

I’ve never liked the grey and was wondering how to change the colour of it.

I found an all blue one on google images, so I knew what it would look like before I did it.
Search “xt660z colors” on google images and a fare way down you will see one with yellow plastics. To be honest not my cup of tea.

Looks great! I saw a white one on the net with the grey panels painted white and thought it looked good! You have done all the mods I have on my wish list for my Tenere.Due to the cost of all the goodies, it will be sometime before mine is up to the level of yours though.

    Cheers
    Mick
