Found this in the news. Considering they came through unscathed it was probably $171 well spent. I reckon a fair bit could go wrong in a hurry though at 90 km/hr (for them and the traffic). Not sure I could ride a skateboard at that speed even on a track.

Three men have been caught riding skateboards down the South-Eastern Freeway and through one of the Heysen Tunnels in the Adelaide Hills.

Police say the men in their early 20s were filmed on security cameras travelling at speeds of up to 90 kilometres per hour on their skateboards.

The men, 23, from Kingscote, another, 22, from St Morris and a 20-year-old man from South Fremantle in Western Australia each received an on-the-spot fine of $171.

I have had the speed wobbles on loose trucks and have lost a lot of skin at much slower speeds than that. The police probably saved them from a trip to the hospital. Would have cost heaps more. That is quick though. I wonder if they had helmets on.?
