    I’m thinking of going for a holiday with the missus in August. I was looking at a resort on the Coral Cost on the main Island. Anyone been there and have any opinions or tips?

    Went there on our honeymoon 24 years ago, absolute shit on the mainland …it is not Fiji , it is just another suburb of India…absolute shit…the islands are the exact opposite, no thats where you find the real Fiji people, and they are fantastic, go for a period of at least two weeks as it will take a week to unwind and get in sync with the Fiji Time system

    I was thinking 10-14 days. Probelm is I can’t use up too much holiday as my whole family are coming out for a holiday in October.

    SO it’s just the people that you wern’t keen on in the mainland then? It’s like that in most holiday destinations though. If you want to experience the real culture you have to get out of the main area. I just want a nice hotel and decent beaches to relax in and chill out. I’d be happy staying in Oz and going to Darwin/Cairns or something.

    With all the bike riding I’m going to be doing this year I need to do something to keep the other half happy and I promised I’d take her on holiday :P

    Yes Moto the people (indians from india) had totally displaced the native fijian’s from the mainland and then the place looked like bombay, no joke I have been to both places, it sucked totally, and how ignorant was I , when I got off the plane I thought air india had just landed until I looked around and shit I in Bombay.
    Mate the Kava is great, if you are into drinking muddy water that after the second cup your feet go and the third your knees and the fourth takes your whole body out, I brought 3 kgs back in my jacket , it lasted for about 18 months….Good shit if you can get past the taste

    Sounds almost worth going for the Kava :laugh: As long as it doesn’t look like India (which for the most part as you would know is a shithole) then I’m still not massively perturbed :)

    Just had Indian for lunch actually :laugh:
