It’s not going to help my cause at all with the non KTM brethren but technically my bike didn’t play up, the aftermarket exhaust did.

Either way it was enough for me to have to bail and not finish my first ride since I started riding. Very regrettable, it was a great ride that I was having fun on.

    There’s always next time….

No mate, I think that that did upset the dodgy way it was held on though and it’s obvioulsy upset it  Where the muffler slips over the back end of the header pipe there are 3 splits in the metal to allow for contraction when clamped together. The splits don’t seem to be big enough as you can tighten the clamp to the (fully sik) max and it is still loose on the header pipe.

If the Wings exhaust used the spring retainer that the standrad one does it would be less of an issue. To make matters worse when I was putting the exaust back on in the bush I lost nut an spacer you gave me and couldn’t hold the pipe on at all!!

In the end I must have rode 10Km’s of bush track to the Gap servo with nothing but 2 cable ties holding my entire muffler on! :P You gotta love cable ties

I’ll have to sort it out before the Caves ride on the 23/24th.

Why? Then I’ll have to fix it. If I leave it till the night before you’ll do it for me :P I’m not quite sure how to go about it yet, I have next weekend to have a look. I just need to get hold of a new spacer and figure out how to make the slots bigger :)
