Hey guys I’m keen for a ride this saturday if anyone is keen? Again I’m up for whatever is going. Keen to run early if possible because I have to be packed up and clean back in east maitland by 5ish. If anyone knows their way around sugarloaf and wants to set out from there I’d be keen, the little squirt I had up there from buttai barn the other day tickled my fancy a bit.
Cheers
June 15, 2009 at 12:47 am #139500I just read this back and noticed that I used the word keen 4 times, I need to work on my subliminal messaging me thinks!

Semi Pro Racer YEAH! Time to update the pic and text againJune 15, 2009 at 12:55 am #139501I might be tempted mate, that’s where I used to ride all the time when I first got back into bikes. It has changed quite a bit in the last few years with the mines putting in more roads and blocking off some trails  . We could even go in from there then head up around Abermain/Kurri Kurri way and back. I don’t know the trails that well but enough to not get lost, I will let you know later in the week though.
June 18, 2009 at 5:49 am #139502I am going to give it a miss this weekend Trent, too much to do and too much rain anyway. maybe next weekend.

Rodney you should start a dunes thread, then people that wanted to go would have their interest pricked

Rodney!?!? wtf!?!?
who the hell is that poor bastard?dunes is a little tricky as one has to get a permit. people would be complaining about that to me. and people may winge that that sand too difficult. or sand is too hard on external bike components.
i could explain that i rode trikes in the dunes for years and never changed a piston or a chain (i did say trikes). or i could explain that dirt is a grinding abrasive aswell (just finer). or i could explain that the fee is for the upkeep on a special riding area. but you know how people complaini find it to be heaps fun, but it is not for everyone
and we normally only head up there for a few hours
(i have heaps of freinds that love the dunes as much as i. and i’m going riding there next friday too)
June 18, 2009 at 8:33 am #140021Mate I’m keen to ride anything but how do you think a 250 4t would go up there? I don’t want to play into your cynical little hands
but I kind of thought that the 250 would get worked a bit too hard running through the sand without a paddle.
June 18, 2009 at 9:31 am #139503Hey Trent a new motorcycle seems to have appeared in my garage so I think I should ride it.Im up for a blat up the Watagans if you want?
June 18, 2009 at 10:28 am #140041Sure!
June 18, 2009 at 10:33 am #139504Boony reminded me that The Watagan Trailbike Rally is on up there this weekend
Do you know your way round anyone else.Ever ridden at Kitchener?Got any other ideas?Come on Trent you’re good at this organisng rides stuffJune 18, 2009 at 10:55 am #140059Haha yeah I spotted that when I went to perv on your new lady! Congrats mate, Ben’s CRF450x is a weapon of a thing on the throttle and scares the poop outta me.
If you just want to get it dirty we can take a look around sugarloaf. I went for a little squirt up there the other week and it wasn’t a worry finding your way around some nice open stuff. Mate I’ve ridden wattagans about 5 times and led/did my best on two of those but I don’t think I’m knowledgeable enough to be leading safely.

a 250 at 1/2 a spark per rev would, to tell the truth, not be the best. i have taken a 125 up there and had heaps of fun. the bike, not so much
June 18, 2009 at 11:08 am #140063Yeah I figured as much. I remember reading of a bloke with a 250excf that cooked it on the sand and figured it’d need that extra torque to be at home.
Where’s wikdbeemer he knows sugarloaf!
June 18, 2009 at 11:13 am #139505I’m down for wherever[Sugarloaf is ok].Just let me know where and when
We can just go for a ride around without knowing where we are ya know
It wouldn’t be the first time for me   -
