I was wondering if anyone had tried tubeless (like the system Blards sell) in the bush and what they thought?
I’ve been having a mongrel time recently with flats and are looking for an edge over the standard set-up.
    All help appreciated,
    Iva

    Gday Adam,

Ridden back to back a ‘Tubliss’ berg 390 and ‘moose tube’ Ktm 530 both on good s12’s.

Both had loads of traction and a planted feel.but on the day the mooses were slightly better also the berg was experementing with pressures and i suspect the could have gone lower, the advantage of tubliss is it stays with the bike and doesnt degrade like the mooses, no issues with tyre ballance or distortion on high speed transport sections. negitive is you still need to carry a tube if you have an unforseen problem out bush.

    Cheers

Great response everyone, really appreciate the feed back, gonna give tubeless a go based on Adams experiences with them. Will post up anything of note for the rest of you OBs.

I have run them on my EXC450 for a bit over a year now and have mixed thoughts about them.
They do all the things they clame run cooler, less wieght, run lower pressure ect but I would have had more flat tyres running them than I did have running extra heavy duty tubes.
I had flats :( from the rimlock holing the tyre, failure of the high pressure tube, and the last flat was failure of the red liner (Tubliss sent me a new system after I emailed them with pics).
I now carry with me a front & rear highpressure tubes, slime, high pressure canisterters (to get enough pressure into the high pressure tube, plugs & a rimlock in case I have another failure so I can put a normal tube back in to get me home which is more gear than carrying a spare tube.
If I get any more problems with flat tyres from the tubliss system I will be going back to heavy duty tubes.

I now also have a Tenere which I will run heavy tubes.

3 of our group who are all very experienced riders tried them last year. They worked well until there were flats. Then they became a nightmare, while trying to fix on the trail. We can do an on-trail repair in about 10 minutes, and repairing these suckers took 45 minutes or so. Everyone is back to B.S UHD tubes, and actually have less flats and easy to fix when you do.

Go the Moosse on the front and a UHD tube in the rear.

    I haven’t had a flat in years.
