At 6.30am we arrived at Wauchope riders that turned up for the ride were
rider X
Mick
Moose
Michelle
Scott
Ross
Bull
Rat
Len
DeanWe headed off into the forest with rider x leading and it was very wet and slippery after 12km the rat overtook Mick and rider x down a steep hill which had fresh very deep ruts at the bottom and ended up on the ground right in front of the lead riders who nearly fell off as well with laughter I wish I knew what the trails were called but I can’t remember. Travelling along one trail a gas gas managed to get swamped in a very deep pothole one trail was like riding up a creek bed for some distance very slippery and hard to see ruts and potholes underwater I think it wasn’t long after this we came accross our log bridge we constructed last ride and it still worked well for most of us it was a great day and a big thanks to rider x and Mick for organising a great morning thanks moose for sweeping and thumbs up to Michelle for burning the rat twice today

April 25, 2009 at 11:10 am #130667That would have to be the wettest, sunny day ride I have ever ben on!! It was a cracker of a ride!!! It was great fun riding in the wet conditions and I got to see KTMRAT eat it too!! I also managed to do another ride in my new riding gear without coming off!!
The stand outs from today;Having a premenition that Moose would sleep in, so I rode out to his place and was proven right as Moose had in fact slept in.
Riding into the black lagoon on the XR whilst every one rode round it.
How freaking wet the tracks where!!
The Rat crashing in the first 8km.
Rat woosing out with a sore wrist and leaving the ride at the 12 km mark after saying goodby to everyone.
Stopping for a break several KM down the track and seeing that the Rat had changed his mind and was still with us.
Dean going arse up on the gasser on the She Oak trail.
Deans submerging of the Gasser in a monster mud hole and it standing there on its own in the mud.
The effort required by Dean, Michelle and myself to get it out.
Michelle flaming Rat, twice, the last one was a cracker!!
All in all, a great fun day out, was had by all.
Cheers to all that came,I enjoyed your company.

No I had passed them all , no one saw it……they only saw the carnage, and then it was only four bikes that went past before me and Betty were up and running again:)
April 25, 2009 at 11:23 am #130676Nah,Rat was peddling pretty well when he went past me going down the hill. I backed off because I knew those big bike eating rutts where in that long grass.

April 25, 2009 at 12:04 pm #130682still packing for the races tomorrow
April 26, 2009 at 10:16 pm #130683Something I forgot to mention about saturdays ride, On my way home, going down Cameron St, It felt as though my back wheel was wobbling,so I just nursed the XR home. When I pulled in the driveway,I noticed a car pull in my driveway behind me. A young bloke jumped out and said “Do you realise your back wheel is buckled really badly??” I said “yeah I could feel it”. and as a parting comment he said” Oh yeah, your bike is running really rich too.”
Dunno who he was,but it was good of him to follow me and make sure I realised I has a problem with my back wheel.
It looks like I have some wheel truing to do?? Dunno how it got so buckled.April 27, 2009 at 12:36 am #130834
AnonymousSounds like a fun ride, I would like to have seen Rat eat dirt, shame there aren’t any photo’s really
Glad everyone got home safe, including you and busted wheel Mick!
April 27, 2009 at 12:51 am #130873Yeah I dunno what has happened to my wheel,I haven’t even had time to look at it yet,the bike is still covered in mud. I will put it up on a stand this evening and check the run out on the rim and go from there.
Yeah it was a great ride, but geez the tracks were wet.:woohoo:
And the high light of the day would have to be Dave eating it,then trying to get back up quickly so no one would know he crashed.

April 29, 2009 at 6:11 am #131414Yeah,it had 5mm of run out and was 7mm out of round in one spot.
It is back close to true now after some tweaking of the spokes. Although the biggest issue is that the MC5 tyre that I have on it has a mother of a bulge in it,that makes the wheel really out of round. It is good for the bush but I wouldn’t like to take a hot trip up to Ginger’s creek on it.April 29, 2009 at 6:14 am #131415micknmeld wrote:
