I tried Pivot Pegs on a few single trail rides & found as I became fatigued i couldn’t stop from rolling on them ie, going up a hill felt like I was going to fall off the bike & going downhill rolled onto the rear brake,
They were great when I was fresh, we just ride till we are rooted & this is where the problem was.
I tried them pre running Finke this year & they were a contradiction to the StegPegz so as I loaded weight onto my calf the pegs rolled forward, so I took them off & went back to my standard pegs.
Ran standard pegs for my short Hattah experience & now doubt I’ll be putting them back on the WR, even with my size 13 feet I’ve found a good pair of boots with a flexible ankle are better than Pivot Pegs.
Seems 99% of people like them & I’m the 1% that doesn’t

Do you think the pegz benefit certain types of riding, like single track and hills , but are not so good on long desert rides??
I have never ridden desert dunes but plan to soon, so if pivot pegz aren’t ideal for this it would be good to know, I could then change back to standard for this type of riding.Anyone else had this experiance??
July 9, 2010 at 6:51 am #183399sb_250y was commenting that he likes them when he is fresh but not as he fatigues. I guess I don’t get to the spent point much as my rides are mostly sub 4 hours but I was definatley tired at the end of both days on the Sofala ride and I did not notice a difference.
The hardest thing I find with Pivot Pegz is getting 12 names to commit to a bulk buy :laugh:STM
P.S I am typing this from the glow of my freshly wired lounge room. Gotta love a good Sparky
July 9, 2010 at 7:13 am #183401I’m Happy I could brighten up your evening matey!!
their must be some more OBTs that need pivot pegz, I’m keen as to get mine
July 9, 2010 at 7:35 am #183402What is the list looking like and how many more?

I can’t comment on how other people ride, although I have been on a few OB rides & found them very relaxed. If I’d been riding with Pivot pegs I’d possibly not even noticed they were fitted.
3.5 hours @ Finke is harder than any 4 hour trailride I’ve done & harder than Yellow Mountain & Condo 750 09 which were two long days & we covered 800km
The reason they didn’t suit me personally at Finke was that I was trying to lock my legs in on Steg Pegz to ease the load on my upper body, so I couldn’t see the point of having a pivoting foot & lower leg when i was using Steg Pegz to minimise the same & it seemed it would only introduce more fatigue into the situation.
To be honest when i first fitted them I initially couldn’t tell they were fitted.
As stated I’m the 1% that doesn’t like them & personally I don’t see they advantage of them.(i wear Gaerne boots which allow me to achieve similar through flexibiltity of the boot)
Luckily i bought them through a group buy, didn’t pay retail.
Maybe I’ll keep them & fit them to my bike when I sell it & keep the originals as spares.
Only way you’ll know if they suit will be to buy a set or try someones bike fitted with them.
Personally a new set of tyres is money better spent
July 9, 2010 at 8:04 am #183403I will ask TB to update the list as he has the latest on his login. We are two short I think.
