Day 1 Saturday August 3
In what organisers have hailed the closest Outright finish in Yamaha Australian Off-Road Championship history,
Yamaha’s Chris Hollis today beat team mate Jarrod Bewley by less than a tyre length for the AORC round nine win.Hollis and Bewley, of the Ballard’s Yamaha Off-Road Team, finished just 0.10-seconds apart after a huge 12
laps (or about 80-minutes) of competition.“It was so, so close, and so intense, me and Jarrod were just fighting it out all day,” Hollis said.
“It was awesome racing, me and him, we just pushed the boundaries each lap and tried to better each other
and it made for really good racing.“And I came out at the end of it by point-one, which is nothing, it could have been anyone’s race, I honestly
thought he had it in the bag.”Hollis (from Wauchope, NSW) said he felt great on the bike and was fully recovered from the pinched nerve
in his neck, sustained at round seven – “I can’t wait for round 10’s cross-country tomorrow”, he said. The 24-year-old today extended his championship lead to 17-points.
Bewley’s performance moved him into 2nd Outright in the point’s standings, one-point ahead of GHR Honda
Racing’s Peter Boyle.Bewley, from Sydney, said he had a ”bit of a drama” in the second heat, losing his front break for the entire lap,
which cost him precious seconds.“But I am really, really stoked to be where I am,” Bewley said. “To miss out by point-one-of-a-second is pretty
devastating, but, you know, it’s a teammate, so it’s really good. I’m really, really proud.”Bewley, who has won every cross-country-style event in the AORC, said he was planning to “get the lead and
pull away” in tomorrow’s mass-start, two-and-a-half-hour race.Another rider looking forward to tomorrow’s cross-country is Motorex KTM Off-Road Racing’s Ben Kearney.
Kearney had one of his best AORC results today, landing 3rd Outright and 1st in Motul Championship E1 Class –
he is 5th in the AORC Outright point’s standings. To watch video interviews with Hollis, Bewley and Kearney, visit http://www.dirtbikepromotions.com.au

Victorian racer Peter Boyle was the man of the hour this afternoon at round 10 of the Yamaha Australian
Off-Road Championship (AORC) at Horsham, Vic, where he took his third AORC Outright win.Boyle, 21, from Gippsland, won a heated battle with current championship leader Chris Hollis by about
17-seconds in today’s mass-start, two-and-a-half-hour cross-country event.“After yesterday it was a bit of a downer, but today I went out there and thought, ‘I’ve got nothing to lose,
so I’ll give it all I got’,” Boyle said.“I went out there, didn’t crash, so that was a bonus as well and I ended up first.”
Boyle, who had “a bit of an off day” yesterday, finishing 8th Outright, is sitting 2nd Outright in the championship
after today’s round (on 200-points).“I will definitely go [to the final round] and try to win, cause the championship’s up for grabs,” Boyle said.
“There are four of us currently who could get it… I will hopefully wrap up my class championship and see
what I can do about the Outright.”Hollis, of the Ballard’s Yamaha Off-Road Team, will go into the final two rounds of the AORC at Nowra on
August 16 and 17 leading the championship by 15-points. The top-four in the championship are separated
by only 31-points.To watch exclusive video interviews with Hollis and Boyle visit http://www.dirtbikepromotions.com.au
Boyle’s teammate AJ Roberts (from Bribie Island, QLD) finished today in 3rd Outright and is sitting 4th in
the championship point’s race (on 184-points).Motorex KTM Off-Road Team’s Ben Kearney missed an Outright podium spot by 10-seconds today, finishing
4th behind Roberts and 2nd in the Motul Championship E1 Class.Ballard’s Yamaha rider Jarrod Bewley, who will go into the final weekend of competition in 3nd in the Outright
point’s standings (on 192-points), came 5th Outright today.Bewley finished 3rd behind Hollis and Roberts in the Yamaha Championship E2 class.
Husqvarna’s Jehi Willis had one of his best AORC results today, coming 6th Outright.

top-10.Organiser Phil Sargent, of Dirt Bike Promotions, said he wanted to give a huge thank you to Cole and Dave
Robbins and their motorcycle club and the property owner for making the weekend and the “fantastic tracks”
possible. The 12-round AORC is ran over six weekends and visits QLD, VIC and NSW. The remaining two rounds
will be held at Nowra (NSW) on August 16 and 17.The championship boasts classes for every level of rider, from Juniors older than 9-years to clubman,
women, veterans, masters, experts and championship-level racers. There’s still plenty of time to enter for Nowra. To enter, for full results from today (and championship
