Final report.
The Final two days were a bit of an anti-climax, after such a punishing and exciting previous 5 days competition.
With day 6 washed out, it only left 1 competitive stage of 75 kilometers in the 400kms or so from Geralton to the finishing line in Perth.
A bit disappointing, however, I’m sure the contestants are glad it’s over. They’ve completed 4000 outback kilometers over 7 days. My arse aches just reading those numbers!
Warren Strange(crf) was quickest by 1 and a half minutes to Ben Grabham(crf). Matt Fish(ktm) was next another 1 and a half minutes back. Erceg(xrfiddy….r r r) 41 seconds back, Damian Grabham 6 seconds back, Vernon Strange(crf) 1 minute 29 seconds behind, Todd Smith(wr) 25 seconds back, Rod Faggotter(crf) 13 seconds behind, then Jacob Smith(wr) back another 1 minute 42 seconds.
So, as far as I can tell, In first 1st Place – Ben Grabham with a total competitive section time of 23 hours 39 seconds. Rod Faggotter 2nd 22 minutes behind. Damian Grabham 3rd only 6 minutes back. Then 27 minutes to Warren Strange in 4th , 3 minutes to Matt Fish in 5th, 14 minutes to Vernon Strange in 6th, 1 hour 10 minutes back to David Schwarz in 7th, Then 13 minutes to Andrew Coaker in 8th, 29 minutes to Rob Pollard in 9th and in 10th position was Dean Nuttall only 22 minutes back.
Ben was 23 hours quicker than last place!!
Team Honda/GHR finished 1st, 3rd & 8th
