Yeah after the 8 hour drive be f@#ked if i was turning around and going home so i stayed the night to.
I ran into some blokes in the forrest and headed out with those guys they were all pretty cool guys bar LC and BOB
our ride had a few up hills a few down hills some KTM’s and a sherco Boiling water for a cuppa tea.
A down hill/cliff face that would have the normal rider screaming for mummys tit.
a KTM showing us why rad gaurds are a great thing
all in all it was a ok sort of day👿 👿
Woke this morning with a drenched gear and a 8 hour drive ahead so we hit the road early.
Cheers to every one who did the right thing and went there seperate ways through the pines.

I softened the suspension in the front to take the jarring out of the smaller bumps and it went everywhere I pointed it. Swapped with another bloke with us pon his DRZ and certainly noticed the difference in the next single, I came out huffing and puffing and couldn’t wait to get back on the WR.
I think the starter motor problem has been sorted now too as it didn’t give me any grief like it had the week before so all rounf I am very happy with the swap.June 2, 2012 at 11:16 pm #223130I heard the sad news on Friday arvo.
I had an old friend coming along to catchup so we found another camp and met some new friends camping in the same area. We all decided go for a spin on Saturday and had a ball following the smaller fire trails. One rider in our little group did an awesome job as they were riding a bit out thier comfort zone in the rocky hills and had an infectious laugh.
All up I had a top weekend with a few separations from the bike in the slippery stuff. All good and resting on the lounge with a beer now.
June 2, 2012 at 11:46 pm #223131After 8 hrs drive two of them I was lost to find out that its was caned I was very dissapointed. Set up camp at another site and meet some ADV riders, who ask me join them on a great run out to Hill End for lunch and back .
Thank Guys and Girls for the invite had a great time and night hope to see you on the trails soon.Cheers

June 3, 2012 at 12:13 am #223132I too, had a leave pass for the weekend so just had to make the most of a bad situation and ride anyway. Lucky enough to bump into mal5.1 and join his little group. A great days riding – made even better by the person with the infectious laugh, who was still laughing right to the end, despite the weather!
Many thanks to the guys who helped me get my car and then the trailer out of the paddock!

Seriously I had a top weekend despite the cancellation. Would have liked to chat with more people, maybe next time. Weather was shite.
Today had a great spin with a wacky bushman on a 300. It was a 300 only invitational so the pace was quick as you would expect
Despite local knowledge said bushman was seen on the ground a few times hehe.
Learned a valuable lesson about riding across wet pallets in the scrub with anger (3rd i think). Nobody gave me the heads up. I have a corked calf the size of a grapefruit. Thanks for a top ride fellas. Thanks to all who did a great job organising even though it was cancelled. Better luck next year.
Those 3 blokes that followed Grant and I saturday afternoon had some fun hooning around I think. Shame I didnt know where I was going but still…. I wonder what their obt names were? Cheers guys
June 3, 2012 at 12:30 am #223134I turned up on Friday afternoon to find out the ride had been canned. Seeing I was already there with my camping gear I set up camp in the pines, kicked back and had a couple of quite drinks. On Saturday morning I decided to take the opportunity to take the RMX for a quick ride by myself before heading home.
Out on the trails I can across some yokel. I figured if I rode the same direction as him it would be safer for both of us. It seems a few others had the same idea and we followed one another around some fine trails and had a some laughs.
The rain didn’t bother me at all when out riding but now I got plenty of wet gear to get dry.
June 3, 2012 at 12:38 am #223136I was very suprised when I got up there on friday… but after the 20 min drive to get there and not having camped in the rain for years I stayed. Had a great weekend, went for a ride, had a chat, had a beer or 5. Went to the hall….etc.
Great weekend.
June 3, 2012 at 12:41 am #223137Axel – if you and Grant were on the 2 strokes, I was one of the three riders doing the single trail stuff with you and the only one that came off (WR450) – blame it on the slippery conditions!. Couldn’t keep up with you guys, but thanks for waiting at every corner. Yep, it was awesome fun. Cheers Budge
June 3, 2012 at 1:00 am #223138Good stuff Budge great to meet you mate. Catch you on the trails again one day.
One more thing on an unrelated note. There’s a sign where I camped that said “please take your rubbish with you”. Its a shame there are seasoned campers out there that still dont get the message, esp after the hassels with forestry. It was really sad to see that after a great weekend.
June 3, 2012 at 1:06 am #223142Yep had an awesome couple of hours with some dudes, leave passes are 2 hard too come by so there was no way I was about to turn around didn’t bother setting up camp just crashed in the van, met some awesome new blokes and ladies, we ended up pulling the guitar out after a couple of drinks and some crazy ass dude from coffs way was rapping out with the husaberg song, you gotta see it, one of the blokes took some video can’t wait to see it.
Cheers
Chris.June 3, 2012 at 1:54 am #223135After riding all day without knowing the event was cancelled i had no choice but to stay the night and indulge in a few beverages around a warm fire.
Met some other Adv as i was heading out and took in a trail to Capertee on Saturday morning then hit the black top to get back to the Coast. F F F F Froze with soaked hands and feet all the way:(
Got a love it!
June 3, 2012 at 2:33 am #223146Yes, very sad to hear the news on friday about the event being cancelled.
But as i need to get more time on the bike, i thought what the heck,
I will still head out on the trails.
I had no idea where i was headed, but lucky some great guys were out riding too,
Cause on a few occassions i wouldnt of got myself out,
there was a guy called mal, and he seemed to know the area well,
He pointed me in the right direction on the trails, after giving me a hand on a hill
Then i think there were a couple of other guys, that came across me
Sam and gareth and the dude ( etc. too many names to remember)
that i also met while i was struggling up and down some hills!!
Even though the weather made it even trickier, i had a great time,
but would definently love to ride, with a group of guys like the ones i met on the weekendHope everyone had as great a weekend as i did
Bummer again about event being cancelled, alyssa
June 3, 2012 at 2:53 am #223150Here is a little hill we rode up, as long as you styaed out of the rut there was pretty decent traction
June 3, 2012 at 8:25 am #223151Left Singleton about 5am friday morning and meetup with Flying Fish at the servo as planed and rode
to Bucketty to meet Eagle and ACE . From there with Eagle leading Ace sweeping we made our way to
the Sunny corner through some of best trails Ive been on . We arrived at the camp ground to find out
the weekend had been canned . Our small group had no choise but to camp the night . Meet some
others doing the same so we stood around the fire and had a few drinks and talked for a while . Meet
some realy nice people . In the morning there was a few going for a ride to Hill End for lunch at the pub
so I followed them . We made our way back camp and stood arround the fire and had few more drinks
till bed time. Sunday morning packed all the gear and headed home , rained most of the way the heaviest
was the last 50klm to Singo . All in all had a great weekend [apart from the rain] meet some great new
people rode some awsome trails . Big thank to Eagle , Ace and Flying Fish for the company on the ride
and an even bigger thanks to every body for there time and effort that went in to the B/D ride that got
canned.bones
All hail King BOLL
