BackyarD TechnologY RacE EquipmenT IS BORNE!!!
most of you know i’m a bit of a fiddler/ shed engineer.
my bro recently bought an XR400, and is coming with me to Menace’s big weekend. and wanted a bash plate.
i had the one off my 640, we tested it for fit on the 400 frame. with a few mods it will do the job as intentioned.
he had some 2nd hand irrigation stop/slides that happened to be 4mm alloy. i made a pattern of the Brand named plate and cut out the required sections, bent them and have just finished the bulk of the welding. i thought i may as well tig up both sides of the seams like the Big named Brand. yeh i know it doesn’t look as good as a bought one. But do they Hand cut, bend and Weld each and every product they make?? i’m guessing Not.
