BackyarD TechnologY RacE EquipmenT IS BORNE!!!

most of you know i’m a bit of a fiddler/ shed engineer.

my bro recently bought an XR400, and is coming with me to Menace’s big weekend. and wanted a bash plate.

i had the one off my 640, we tested it for fit on the 400 frame. with a few mods it will do the job as intentioned.

he had some 2nd hand irrigation stop/slides that happened to be 4mm alloy. i made a pattern of the Brand named plate and cut out the required sections, bent them and have just finished the bulk of the welding. i thought i may as well tig up both sides of the seams like the Big named Brand. yeh i know it doesn’t look as good as a bought one. But do they Hand cut, bend and Weld each and every product they make?? i’m guessing Not.

    thanks Mal.

grant has the plate to mark the mounting holes and where it need to be modded to fit it up, around the drain plug in the bottom of the frame etc.

once finished i’ll post up pics of it on the XR.

    Yep,
Standard plastic job,,,It seems reasonable, but a B&B bashy is on the wishlist before I tackle too many obstacles from here on in :)
Not many samples around at the moment mate ,,,,
