I was pretty bummed when I wasn’t able to attend Mals ride last weekend. Unfortunately I was still injured from an off back in late December. Got back to work this week after 7 weeks off and thought I need a ride.
sb_250y and myself joined up with Mal 5.1 to do a nice easy ride and do a bit of reconnaissance for future rides. Well the weather was not kind to us and it rained all day. The nice easy part of the ride went out the window very early in the day and it turned into one of the hardest rides I have ever done. I’m pretty sure all of us layed down for a rest at sometime through the day well i know I did a couple of times…….. We only did about 40km’s in around 7 hours so it was pretty slow going. A good day was had by all, it will be a cracker loop if we can piece it all together.

What a cracker of a day for riding. It started to rain just as we geared up. We told Badbowie that we just wanted to check some tracks we seen last weekend. Turns out we found a few more and I was told about a couple of new ones that are hard to find.

Parts of the ride turned in to a grade 5 with one track been about a 1.5 loop of what I think would be grade 5+ that went up and up and then almost straight down. It was the most concerned I’ve been going down a hill ever.

Once sb and Badbowie (and KTM_Rules) link it all up it will be around 100kms of punishing single track with very little fire trail. :woohoo:

I just need more fuel range now. :(

My bike after I parked it in the wrong spot. :(

For what was meant to be an easy day checking out a few trails, it turned into the an extremely tough ride. A few times I thought we’d gone past the point of no return.

A lot of time was spent dragging bikes & building trails, each time we thought we were at the top of a hill another steep snotty climb loomed. We didn’t cover a lot of distance but some of the trails were awesome.

We found a few more trails that need exploring & hopefully will make an extremely challenging loop with new & old trails.

Even though we were challenged in places, I’m sure you’d make it look easy :)

I was telling the guys that we used to trek through that sort of stuff years ago. ah the memories.
