Thanks Mick for a great ride & great day. I’m glad I finally turned up on a ride made me realise just how much fun they are. except when Toes comes sneaking up behind you.
Cheers

March 10, 2013 at 7:56 am #237963On behalf of Mick and Myself
From the idea when we decided to do this to the end was easy because of the following people in no particular order
Breckenridge farm stay – Shirley and Barry
Wauchope Bakery
Modishe Espresso
Snowy for the juice
The sweeps. Moose, Gasit and Toes
Everyone that attend
Micks wife Melissa and daughter Taylah for helping cook and serve
And Mick for prerunning his loop and showing everybody how good Bago isI know when I started the FB page for the Scrapheap ride and spoke with Mick, the idea to do this sounded great. We got the page rolling sent out the invites on FB and did the thread here, I don’t think I could have imagined so many would have turned up given the weather leading up. As it got closer and rained Mick rang about calling it off, I reckoned it would dry out enough, we were lucky. To answer the questions about why we did it under Theboss name. Because there was money involved(even though it was paid straight to Down Syndrome NSW), it opens up a minefield of legal issues we never want to go down. Not that we think anyone that attended is like that, its just what we have to do. The fact I hurt my foot and we both got snowed under at work didn’t stop it being a great event, like all OBT rides. We had planned a quiet pre run that didn’t happen  poor Mick stressed all week, we discussed tracks spoke on the phone, I told him if you have to turn around on a track because it is blocked, it happens given the weather leading up, no one will care. There can be a fair amount of stress leading a ride that big under those circumstances.
On a personal note I was disappointed I had to leave early on Saturday afternoon when it finished but really wanted to see Lisa and Simon’s, 2 ride the world evening at Rock motorcycles, which was bloody awesome,!!!! Not riding on Saturday wasn’t as tough as I thought it would have been because I still got out to see everybody enjoying themselves

March 10, 2013 at 9:07 am #237964OMG what a ride, what a weekend!!
Thanks Mick for organising such an amazing weekend. Also Moose, Toes (for sweeping) Puddles for leading the B group and TB for drinks and chocolate (and everything else) and Boony for looking so good on the trails………Eye candy
Importantly the Breakfast was great and a fantastic fundraising effort for the Scrapheap!! Top effort to all who put that on!!
The trails Mick led us on were just amazing and I would never have thought I would attempt what we did let alone actually get through it. The old saying of “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” sums up the ride for me.
As always, the Old Bulls spirit was alive and strong over the weekend. I must have dropped my bike or fallen over at least 20 times (it felt like 50 times :S ) but there was always somebody there to help me pick it up, ride it up a hill or just convince me I could get down the hill. I even managed to almost go over the edge of the track/cliff (that took 5 strong men to retrieve it and stop it from disappearing into oblivion). A very big thanks to all. I was even offered the rock that caused me to spin off the track.
Rach, it was awesome meeting you and even better to watch you fly over the course, you always had a smile on your face and a laugh when we stopped. You rock!!
Mick thanks again for what you put together! OK, so I may have cussed you a little at times yesterday  , but today I’m a better rider for it. As I rode home today I had a smile from ear to ear!!
