The ride was going to be a solo run so i took my time on saturday morning making sure i was prepared, then once i was convinced i was good to go i took off at about 9:30.
I had no set plan for saturday so i took off with the thought of exploring some back roads and sneaky trails.This one was a nice ride but tuned out to be a no go towards the end, the lady that owns the property was cool and was trying to figure out a way for me to get through but the pad lock wasnt hers, it didnt matter though, it was still a good ride back out.
Then it was some old favourites that i had done in the ute but not on a bike, but first a sneaky one to link it up.
having a ball i headed for dungog for supplies and the to camp.
Ferndale is a top spot to stay, plus it has hot showers.
Some friends were up there camping and riding as well, here is mark helping megs fix his tyre ( good mates :laugh: )
and that was day one.
Day two was awseome…………………………ish. :laugh:

A bit of lacal knowlege had me heading up through some private property for a short cut,
its all familiar for me as i ride past all the singles that we usually ride.
Then its time for a look down a trail that i have wanted to check out for years, if it links up to what i think it does it will be happy days.
This fellow posed a small problem and also gave me my first opportunity to pick up a tenere.
it all got pretty steep from here and as i rode down i thought i could ride back up if i needed, but, i wasnt on the 300 was I, the gate i got to wasnt locked so i tried to open it while i was sitting on the bike but that wasnt going to work and this is where it turned to shit, bike down and i heard a horrible noise of the screen exploding as the bike fell over and hit the straining post, F#@* S#$% F#@*, second opportunity to pick the tenere up and to make things worse it was the wrong gate, F#@* S#!% F#@*, now i have to get out, i lined up the hill and kept a steady pace until it got a bit steeper and i needed some more momentum, i clicked to second, hooked in and thought this is not right, three quaters up i came to a stop, F#@* S#$% F#@*, now i have to turn this big bitch around and point it down hill, third opportunity to pick the tenere up, F#@* S#$% F#@*, plan C took me on a trail to blackberry’s patch of death, F#@* S#$% F#@*, Penis neck was going to make an apperance soon, but i noticed a trail that looked like it was worth a shot, i had to hook in on this one but grip was good and i was climbing quickly and woo effin hoo i made it back out and onto a decent road

This some beautiful country to ride through
this makes the shit fight worth the effort
the run to the pub is a good one
i earned every drop
bridge down, but not a problem for the tenere
a few sneaky one on the way home
the gate said no motorbikes
it was just over 700 klms for the weekend and heap of fun, i want to do it all again tomorrow

Never heard the expression “Penis neck” before..but its well suited to a sticky situation when your on a bike with abit of weight :laugh:

Nice beers at Moonan Pete. Had a quick run up and over “The Tops” with a mate from Buladelah just before Chrissy. Nice and cool up there this time of year.
