A top day in the mountains was had by almost all :woohoo:
Started off with my trailer tyre delaminating slightly so I pumped up the spare just in case
We had 15 starters for the ride and ended with 9
Thanks to everybody for sharing the sweep especially Holeshot for doing it all arvo
We did the “warm up loop” using the cornerman system but the group became too drawn out so when we got back to the cars to refuel we went with Moto’s sugestion of two for every corner
On our first rocky hill we lost three blokes due to a knee injury (hope everything is alright there???) and a KTM530 not wanting to play the game  I think that was the story as it was only relayed to me
The group started moving a little better due to the lesser numbers in the pack and the 2 man system
Stopped every 10kms to swap sweep and have some lollies
Everything went smoothly and even Wave rock caused no real delays, a few did opt to ride around and meet us the top
Lunch at the fuel stop was had and we said goodbye to Nick on the Beemer and a couple of others, sorry about the lack of names
And then there was 9
Did a new single to link up with Old mill rd and through the creek to the biggest challenge of the day :woohoo:
Nathan (tf2) was the only one who nailed it and he did it with balls :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
After dragging and pushing bikes up that hill we came to another tricky section which caused some more dramas. It was a big slippery slab of rock that would of been a lot easier if the bastard tree root wasn’t strategically place across the track. I think there was a few off on this section. Hit the ridge and returned to the creek via the rock steps to meet up with Holeshot. Might wait at the creek myself next time!!!
Followed the main drag back to “CR 500” corner and then did all the singles back to the Basin. I must admit I was glad to see the end of the singles as I was getting a little messy.
Even though I cut a few tracks out and there were plenty of rests, I was still buggered.
Said my goodbyes and thanked everyone for coming along.
Lost the whole tread from the trailer tyre on the way home but managed to limp into the driveway running on the steal belts, spare was flat again
I will try and get some pics up tomorrow
Thanks again for everybody pitching in when needed
Cheers
Murph the surfP.S. Moto, didn’t see your missing full jerry on the way out

this was my first ride with the old bulls and i had a blast – very well organised murph!
the riding i’ve been doing has been very tame in comparison which was highlighted by the fact i kept going over the bars on every steep downhill!
i came off 10 times more than anyone else and thanks to steve (moto) and axel for helping out – much appreciated.
after picking my pick up more than a few times and having drank 3 litres of water in record time i was buggered and headed off early – just as well by the sounds of your report murph!!!!
the blokes on the ride were a top set of lads and i’ll definately be joining in again (if allowed..!).
thanks again
NickNovember 1, 2009 at 6:10 am #158909Nice report Murph.
As usual Murphsberg strikes again. 15 started and only 9 finished. We’ll have to make a DVD of your rides mate.
November 1, 2009 at 6:38 am #158918Was my first OBT ride and what a good ride it was!
Thanks Murph and the rest of the blokes, I really enjoyed.
I took a few photos, mostly at the beginning of the day. I’ll try to get them loaded up soon.
Cheers

November 1, 2009 at 7:24 am #158887To start off it was yet again a great ride.
arrived at the meeting spot at a quarter to 8 to find about five people already there. Diddel was there with his bike in pieces. The kid loves to ride.
on closer inspection of the bike it seems most of the key parts like the exhaust are missing most bolts ?
how it stays on is beyond me. might be all the duct tape. when questioned on the matter diddel replied ” yeah the pipe doesnt lign up with the mounts any more so i dont use bolts ”as for the ride it was a massive crowd. 15 to start the ride.
we did the usual warm up loop up to letter A. on the first bit of single we rode I was right at the back with Diddel and Moto as the sweep. when we arrived at a little pinch climb we saw about 4 bikes in font with riders off either picking their bikes up or trying to get them back on track.
the first 10 kay loop took about an hour with a couple of stops along the way to gather all troops together and a brief rest wating for Diddel to re attach his new rear fender and tuck in some electrical wiring back in somewhere ?
Also a 530 didnt want to start, busted e start and just didnt seem to want to kick.
poor bloke must have kicked it close to 100 times next to me. we tried all tricks. he was exhausted just from trying to kick it. :ohmy:we got back to the cars and refueled ready for the next loop with plenty of sweaty tired bodies. it was bloddy hot.
We headed out up the first hill from the basin. The one with the long concrete slab. dont know what it is called ?when i arrived at the first gnarly part of the hill it was a scene of mass carnage. there were 4 bikes down. some of the sydney crew. diddel tried to pass them but ended up getting stuck
November 1, 2009 at 7:25 am #158888Firstly just to annoy tf2 as I know it will, there is a piss ant hill in ourimbah that’s got him beat so don’t go jumping to conclusions he’s david knights old man .
Top ride as usual murph. Perfect combo of singles and open for drift. Bike working well for open stuff now so I’m glad to be able to ride side ways again :woohoo:.
1 notable thing I completed this ride after 4.5 hours sleep so you blokes can whine after me .
It kicked in today, my eyes wouldn’t convey their information to brain properly and wasn’t with it.Can’t remember any to bad passes but if I did I apologise, can’t resist :woohoo:.
November 1, 2009 at 8:04 am #158889a few decided to head back after this hill. we were down to 12. as the ride went on the carnage continued with stories at our 10 kay stops of horror on the trail.
here is some examples
Justo
Ripnshred
Redders
Moto starting his charge
November 1, 2009 at 8:12 am #158890Moto coming to terms with his new 300 beast with the red power valve spring. That spring is great for technical rutted c*nt hills like this :cheer:
the 300 trying to kick moto off
the next few photos are off Littswood a new obtrailriders convert and Diddel snaking there way up

AnonymousMy intention was to do a prpoer report today but as I left Kulnura after the ride I got a call saying my mate Matt was at home and to get home quick sharp as we were going for beers and dinner. He’s only just left so I’ll do my report tomorrow.
November 1, 2009 at 8:23 am #158963Got to say I wondered about the red spring, first ride, Murph ride

AnonymousI’ll do a write up on the bike in my garage thread to keep this thread mildly on topic. It was a great ride to test the new beats out though and there were 3 other 300 smokers to share advice with!
My wrist is sore today from a little off :p
