First of all what a massive effort for Galey, Bob and LC4skin to even show up theres no way I would have, to drive 9 hours with a forecast like that is as keen as you can get.We had 380 ml in the four days leading up to and 150ml on the day.

    DAY 1
The bridge had gone back under overnight, so I had a 40min drive to meet LC 100mts from my house.

We had 4 hours untill team extreme arrived , so we headed off in rain torrentual rain.

I got a bit too sideways on the first corner I saved it, just, but i strained a back muscle, on the first corner of a 4 day ride. :pinch:
We did a couple of hills then headed down Hospital range trail, to Thora. Its only a firetrail but with 80 erosion jumps it was fun even in these conditions. We did some neglected ridge line singles then headed back to town.
We had lunch in the local grandstand untill they arrived.

We headed back out and as you would expect almost every river/creek was a raging torrent (and so were most of the trails). We crossed one creek that got us on to the next ridge line.

Were there were some really gnarly hills. One in particular, Lc was the only one to make it even though we had 4/5 gos each.He waited at the top while we backtracked.

    Galey was loving it.

By 4.30 there was finally a break in the weather and we headed to a track Ive been working on, on the side of recently logged hill, normally there are 13 hill climbs in a 9 min track but only a few were doable , we played there for an hour then headed back to the cars.

We had a beer then I left to drive home,Got 5 min out of town and the road was closed and Sth Bello was isolated so I went back to the pub with the boys and stayed there the night.
We had dinner and they got to meet some of the locals

    DAY 2
What a difference a day can make after the worst case scenario of tursday ,friday turned out great.
I headed home, the road was closed but people were sneaking around the signs. there was water on the road in three places, one was 100mt long, the Jumbuck has the clearence of a Corolla but I snuck through.

We met STM and headed west, lots of trails were out of action, but we only had to turn around a couple of times, and the ones we did were awesome. We couldnt get to Glenreagh, but we did do heaps of single including some really technical stuff that I havent done before, and a nice trail called Two step.

We ended up at the Widow Maker, Galey and Bob had several goes, Bob made it just above the big divet then fell off the side his bike rolled down the hill side over side then he followed it while we laughed.
I made it twice but then stalled halfway, in a vain attempt to keep my 100% record I tried to restart 5 times, each time ending badly untill I was practically at the bottom. We had lunch at Mullaway then headed to the bike shop to replace some damaged parts. It didnt rain once all day up there and any doubts about coming were long gone.

Great ride report! Great pics too. Well done to all the guys who headed out. LC appears to be loving the Berg!

    Good onya fella’s. :woohoo:
Even with the flooding it sounds like ya’s managed to get some decent riding in.
Ev that widow maker hill gets a bit slippery on the conglomerate above the step when its wet but its still great fun. B)
STM with the smaller crew did ya’s ride up that 3 step hill that we rode down on the Coffs ride last October?
Hope the rain stays away for the weekend
And I hope your back is alright Ev. :pinch:
    Cheers

We sure did ride up it Murph and it was a great test. LC made it all but 50cm from the top and sat at the point of no return wheel spinning like a hoon at Summer Nats. Ev made light work of it and Galey, Bob and myself put some new scars on our bikes. We all got up in the end with a bit of teamwork.
We rode one really tight single that you would love Murph but I need a small crew for that sort of stuff.
Your right Mick, LC is ripping on the Berg!
The radar looks like no rain south of Coffs today so after yesterdays humidity Macksville will definitely be ridable and I am sure the boys will have a great day.

    DAY 3
There were 7 on day 3, Ev, LC, Bob, Galey, Rosco33, Macka and Adam.
We headed to Macksville, on what has turned out to be a tour of the Nth coast.

    026-1.jpg

We set a good pace to Hanging rock, then dopped down into a nice creek trail.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRJ4gnpYNAk

Then a short transport to more singles and another creek that was even better this is were my camera packed it in so no video. After a “Lunch” break  we headed back out and rode some more trails including the creek trail from the Macksville 2011 ride, it had alot more water than that day and Bob and Galey both drowned there bikes. The water was brown so you couldnt see the bottom and some parts were alot deeper than others ,I turned around and saw Bob neck deep, seat under floating down the creek lucky he had given me his camera.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHXurzy6ymo

Then rode some fast ridgeline firetrails that had some nice elevation changes and some 3rd gear hills.
We ended the day on a rocky hill that had a few steps.

And best of all it didnt rain a drop, and even the Bello bridge opened this arvo wich meant the boys could do some repairs at my house.

Well you certainly delivered on your promise of a tough ride Ev. How many hours and how many km’s did you ride over the first three days?
