AnonymousIf your looking at throwing away your hard earned dollars buy a pair of these crap boots. They are good for about three rides then it all turns to shit. Mine have probably seen all up ten rides now (give or take a few) and I have now got cracks, a lock cam has ripped off, the inside of my left boot has blown out and on top of it all they leak like sieves.
I emailed the importer and told them of the problems that I have had, but they have still not replied. That was around a month ago now.
Next time I’m going old school all leather boots and giving the leather – plastic ones a miss.

Same same with the Oneal M10 boots. No satisfaction from the importer there either, all they do is take your money and run.I got three months out of them before they started to fall apart.
December 27, 2008 at 10:15 pm #115973I just looked at my log books(yes they tell me everything) and the last three pairs of tech 8 Alpine stars have got 23,550 kms, 18,700 kms and 12,450kms……the last ones got cut real bad on a star picket in the ground with no harm to me…..I wear nothing but them and wont change
December 27, 2008 at 10:19 pm #115990I gotta say after having my O’neals for over a year now, they are still in pretty good shape, other than losing a toe cap. Can’t say the same for the pants though, they started falling apart after the first ride, keep hassling the importers, if they are that crap quality they should do something about it.
Cheers

December 27, 2008 at 10:23 pm #115994Chris I have found an email to the parent company in the states telling them of their agents lack of respect for the retail customer usually gets a real fast reply from the Aussie importer, especially if that email was sent from all the other old bulls who have similar fate with O’neals crappy gear…try thor next time

That’s a good idea, maybe I’ll start an excel spreadsheet to keep track of things, I just gotta remember to do it that’s the hard bit.

I suffered the same fate with the O’Neils that I had. They did however last longer than the crap Beriks

Now we have 300 odd people that probably wouldn’t chose that brand next time they buy boots.

Hey Dan, what did the boots originally cost you?

Obviously worth spending the extra coin if you can get life like that.
Do you pay any special attention to your boots to get them to last that long or is it more that the Alpine Stars are just that much better?

I am a little more proactive than just telling everyone, I believe in cutting close to the quick, hit where it hurts the most, the importers pocket, and thats the USA importer from china as well as the importer in Australia, the only drama with just spreading the word is the rate of newbies that dont know is always rising and the rip offs still occur
