Hey Bulls
I have waged full scale war against lantana and need to know the best tool to clear over grown trails.
Is is a line trimmer with a metal blade, a brush cutter or a hedge trimmer?
Cheers

January 16, 2010 at 12:16 am #168315Have you tried one of these STM, they also double as a handy way to remove the odd fallen sapling. Seen here clearing some single trail

January 16, 2010 at 12:19 am #168324doesnt matter really what you use Scotty,it still grows back fast as ever. I carry a Machete strapped to the bars when Im clearing tracks, but a metal blade in a line trimmer does work a treat for serious stuff. My mate he made up a bush and fitted a circular saw blade :woohoo: This works areal treat but you have to be careful as it can be deadly!!

January 16, 2010 at 12:20 am #168316Maybe one of these reverse mounted on the front of the WR to clear the vines, you will have to get a power take off fitted thats all.

January 16, 2010 at 4:49 am #168330fire, not kidding then diesel on the remnants, now this isn’t overly practical on crown lands may land you in a spot of bother, so a Machete with a good fall and blade (canecutters knife) is the preferred hand method for I.
tends to tangle up on brushcutters spend more time unwinding the cwap

March 10, 2010 at 10:40 am #168332I was down in Sydney Town today and picked up my new lantana weapon. A two stroke hedge cutter with massive teeth. It makes Edward Scissor’s hands look like a wanking glove. I will get some shots this weekend and post a full report.
I could not resist and tried it on some brush beside the road and it was sending shit flying :woohoo:

Who knows what I was rambling on about the other night. I do speak my fair share of shit which is one of the reasons I belong on this site
I will get some shots of the new weapon in action. I will get some good before and after pics. Sweet dreams lantana. Your time has come!
