July 27, 2014 at 9:52 am #258486Fitted slightly lower bars , problem is they sweep back more than the stock bars which
makes it slightly cramped
may need to fit the standard bars back on until I can find
a bend similar to the stock bars but a bit flatter ( not sure if you can get them lower )

Is it possible to lower the bar risers until they give minimal clearance on the damper? My sub mounted damper is only running 17mm rise over standard (motosportz)
July 27, 2014 at 10:41 am #258487Not me Nato . But the new beta will be living in the same street as me .
Go YAMAHAAugust 11, 2014 at 9:40 am #258488Hi Guys
After clocking up a few hours on the Beta 300rr the only real issue on an otherwise top package
in my opinion is the Sachs forks
They work OK on the small stuff but suffer deflection on the sharp
mid to large hits, played around with dampening adjustment with slight improvements but no fix .
Have taken them down to Terry Hay ( Shock Treatment )today for a rework , 4.4 springs fitted and some major work done on the valving .
Will give it a run on the weekend and report back on the forks performance
Cheers Drewy
August 11, 2014 at 10:07 am #258984I was just reading the 2015 Beta test reports in TBM uk enduro mag and they said the same , it’s only the suspension that needs work to make them the pick of the euros as a trail machine.
I have the Marzzocci fork which seem fine standard so far but look forward to hearing your thoughts after the upgrade

August 11, 2014 at 10:18 am #258489I had the Marzzocci forks on my TM450 they are a top fork , you could hit anything with confidence
with no bad habits that I could tell . Maybe I was spoilt with such a good fork but am hoping the Sachs
will be near as good now . The rear end seems OK but if the forks are working a lot better I might have the
rear shock done as well.
October 5, 2014 at 10:46 pm #258490Hi guys
Just thought I would give some feedback on the mods to my Beta 300rr
The Beta is a great bike only let down by the sachs forks ( in my opinion ) so after spending $500 on firmer springs
and valving mods the forks now work as well as anything I have owned or ridden . The forks now ride over rocks , roots
and trail junk without any deflection and give the front end a very planted feel :cheer:Being an old fart and finding the power a little to strong for my pissy little arms the power valve was adjusted from 2.5 turns in to 3.5 turns , this has really made the power more lineal and seems to grab traction a little better.
I removed the steering damper because I could not get the bars where I wanted , these things are very stable and found no issues without the damper .
The next mod may be a recluse auto clutch , any feedback on these would be appreciated .
Cheers Drewy
