Had a great weekend with Mal5.1
The Dude, Smurf and I met up with Medrorocket and Mal about 9;30 Saturday at spot X (not sure if Mal wants to let too much info out) Did some great singles with a few good steep rocky sections thrown in. Most of us had an off or two but nothing too serious, very lucky with a head on collision though!!
Second day we met up with Gotchya and rode some more rocky singles winding our way down to the backwaters of Lake Lyall (spelling??) We had one bogged bike in the Cox River and one good crash involving the Dude and me. Both were to blame as I was probably just to close to the Dude on one of the many snotty hill climbs. I saw the Dude stop up ahead so I thought I would sneak around him but when he went to put his feet down there was no ground. So he lands on me pushing me over onto the gnarly rocks. Just scrapes and bruising on both bodies and bikes. Shame we didn’t get any footage, I think it would of looked funny
Anyway thanks to Mal and everyone for making it a great memorible weekend :woohoo:
Its up to you Mal to fill in the details, at least I’ve made a start :silly:
Cheers :cheer:
MurphSeptember 20, 2009 at 11:21 pm #153649Did the Rally on sunday, had a great time with 1000 other bikes, was worth the experience I reckon, we GPS’d all the tracks so we can find them again, heaps that we’ve never ridden before, there probably the secret ones mal knows..
Cheers
Chris.September 21, 2009 at 10:06 am #153654I’ll do a report tomorrow arvo. Have a few pics and vids to upload. Had a great weekend though.
Murph tell them about your ‘Moto” style maintenance and knowledge of bike electrics…
And how you felt on Saturday trying kick start your bike. :silly:
September 21, 2009 at 9:42 pm #153727Jeaz Moto, they all seem to have a go at you. But alas it was my lack of electical maintenance that had me kicking the 525 until I just couldn’t kick anymore. My bike runs pretty rich at home (sea level) but up at Mals (over 1000m) she runs very rich causing it to flood easily and with no decompression lever it was bloody hard work. That nigtht we cleaned a few components and changed a fuse and all was good again (love the magic button).
Cheers

Morgo and I went looking for you on saturday night.
Had a great ride on Sunday wasn’t too crowded.
Went on some vertical bits that you would definately enjoy.
Son on Morgo had gear lever troubles that put a bit of a damper on the arvo ride, he’ll fill you in on this
Never thought of taking the GPS to map the tracks though, great ideaSeptember 26, 2009 at 10:10 pm #153650Dudes view
Drove from Newy early and met Mal5.1 at some secret spot, I don’t know where I was along for the ride which was fine by me.
Riders for Saturday Megorocket, Mal5.1, Murph, son of murph and me.
It was just single trail all day, all good , bit dusty but you get that nothing you can do but back off and get clear air.
Had one good gutsa that was off a drop off which from other side looked like a nice jump (the photo that old bull competition capture was about the guy on the kato stuck hanging on a tree) I had too much speed but gunned it too late front shocky took most of the force but somehow I was on the ground. Happens too quick. Real good trails, go riding with Mal5,1 if you get a chance.Sunday Rydal
Riders Mal5,1, Murph the surf, Smurf, Gotchya and me
Another good day, seemed like endless single trails that were well linked up, some tough hill climbs. Water crossings, lots of rocks just all good.
I was disappointed with myself for stalling my bike near the top of this mad hill started slide down hill backwards and fell off but took Murph out as he rode up the hill Murph put his body on the line to break my fall.
Its good mates look out for each other and do that sort of thing,
thanks Murph.
Body armour save my elbow that time got a big bruise around elbow but elbow joint AOK, 4BP moot body armour.Well and truly buggered after that weekend 135 km over 2 days, nearly all single trail work.
Special thanks to Donna and Mal for making this weekend possible.

September 28, 2009 at 11:31 am #154213Finally got around to uploading pics and videos.
Not much more to add to Murphs and Dudes report. We had a great couple of days. Explored a couple of new tracks on Saturday and now have a good loop that can made as long or short as we like. The saturday arvo loop is just picturesque, riding through rocky cliffs and over large rock areas.
Sunday was linking up tracks, crossing the river and stopping for a gas bag fairly often.
