Hi guys,
Thought I would tell you about today, A friend rang from Sydney on Friday and said that him and five of his mates are coming up to my place next weekend for a ride. Ripper!!
So this morning one of my brothers and I went out to sort out a loop for the boys plus I wanted to test the new Mikuni. We sorted out an awesome 90km loop with heaps of single trail mixed with a bit of fire trail, and a few big hills with great views.
Anyhow 60km into todays ride, I was ripping along a fire trail at about 90 kmh and on my right, I noticed a small herd of Hereford cattle in the bush and at the last moment a calf leaps out of the the table drain on my left and I fully T-boned the stupid #$@^&% thing!!!! Over the hangers goes Mick and he tumbled up the road and ended up stunned in the table drain with his fancy new helmet all scratched up.
The XR is fine though, it didn’t even stall and laid there idling !! I had to undo the triple clamps after the crash to straighten her all up again as she was crabbing a bit. If it wasn’t for the stupid cow, I wouldn’t have come off at all today and wouldn’t be sitting here with a heat pack on my ribs!! My hip is also killing me but I am trying to act tough in front of the missus, who, every time she looks at me ,she laughs.
My brother also flipped his 530 going up a steep hill, I mean fully flipped it and it landed upside down on its seat. That was funny as!!
Apart from that we had a great day!!! Few beers and some bull crapping in the shed finished the day off nicely.
The mikuni went ok, but I feel it still could do with some tweeking which I am hoping you guys can help me out with. At the moment it isn’t going $439 better than it was with the stock carb.
Anyhow guys cheers

Thought I would cop some crap from you lot. The cow stayed down for a while too but not as long as I did!! When My brother and I rode up at Coffs Harbour with Coffs Detour we got christened the “buster brothers”,always good for a crash or two. LOL. Ambitions outweighing abilities!!!!!
Yep come on up sometime. Plenty of good riding up this way, As far as accomodation goes. There is a Pub 200 meters from my house, that is were the boys will be staying.I tried to post a pic from today but it was to big and I can’t edit it for some reason.
MickJune 14, 2008 at 11:14 am #104930Thought you had a understanding wife and could stay at your house
Or is the whole herd already there lol
June 14, 2008 at 11:22 am #104924She is pretty good mostly ,although she would crack the s#*ts over all the snoring and farting 6 guys could do!!!
June 14, 2008 at 11:29 am #104925We had gone down a very steep hill way past the point of no return and we found this blocking the track, hope this link works….

This is trailboss after a few rums..

June 14, 2008 at 11:45 am #104932OMFG, yep the link works, Hard work getting over that baby, theres a guy on the Kawasaki forums that I frequent that actually mounts a chainsaw to the back of his bike for that exact reason..
June 14, 2008 at 11:49 am #104926You would need a 3ft bar on your saw to get through that baby. It wasn’t that hard to get the bikes over it. We are gunna take the crew down that track next weekend if it stays dry.
That will test us out getting ten bikes over it, but the track it is over, is really worth it.June 15, 2008 at 9:46 am #10492724hr update,
The ribs are still giving me hell and there are a few other sore spots that have appeared today.
I have been at our Club’s track all day, as my son raced in the sprint series on his 85. You should have heard the moans and groans coming out of me putting his bike on the trailer this morning!!! Yep ,Trailboss you made a good call, I am starting to believe, I am getting soft!! BTW It must be all but snowing down your way as it is freezing up here.
Chris Hollis also raced at the track today and as you could imagine he cleaned up, but he had a bit of opposition from another local guy on a 07 YZ250 2st. Ol mate put the pressure on him all day, even beat him by 10 seconds in 1 round.
Here is a pretty average pic of Hollis I took on my phone..
After 5 beers and a couple of bourbons the old ribs don’t feel to bad now, we will see how I feel in the morning when I have to front up for work!! :woohoo:
