    Ok.

So as stupid a question as it may seem can anyone recommend a bike stand that is suitable for use with a D5650 in order to check/lube the chain etc by a single person (ie. not need two to lift the bike onto stand etc)

I have tried (and returned) some as they are pure MX and with the limited ground clearance of the DR they could not get as low as needed (around 260 mm maximum – will confirm)

The stand will need to be able to safely handle the weight of the DR and so looking at a safe loading of around 160+ kgs.

Admittedly the bike will not be stored on the stand etc as the idea is to use the stand to clean and lube the chain as well as adjust when required only.

I have considered looking at trolley jacks and/or road race paddock stands but all suggestions appreciated

    Thanks in advance

I have a alloy whipps lift stand. It had two allen headed screws that allow its lift and static hights to be adjusted. I have used it plenty on a DR650. Cost $179 There are cheaper and they arent a site sponsor anymore but shit its a good strong light stand

In the workshop clean-up i found 2 Sharp racing steel kick up stands. They have a H pattern top so the bike is stable. Made in Melbourne with Aussie steel ! (Murray Sharp always reminds me about that when i talk to him)
They are a bit taller than 260mm so i used to lift DR650’s onto them but they will take the weight easy, I’ve had BMW’s on them. Nothing is heavier than a BMW…
Let me know if you are keen and i’ll modify one for you. $120
Looks like this but it’s made from square tube and heavier duty.

    Update:

The pig only has 230mm maximum of clearance under the bash plate, so 220 – 225mm would be ideal.

    Is that a possibility Teknik?

    Thanks in advance
