cheers EvEv,
It’s a little hard to grade as that depends on what the group wants. Most likely a 3-4 I’d say based on who’s coming so far. The park is 7500 acres but you never get more than 10km from the base camp as the camp is right in the middle. So if you get a flat etc it is easy to ride back and get it fixed. I’ve ridden there heaps as the owner used to be my pony express partner. look here http://www.biketerritory.com.au for a few more details and search bike territory in my posts here for a few ride reports. There is a lot of excellent single track loops, the hill climbs range from average to impossible for anyone but the talented but in saying that all the really tough hills are what I’d call safe in that very few people damage their bikes in an attempt. I’ve never made horse power hill yet and I would have had at least 50 attempts.
There is also an excellent enduroX track. In short there is a great range of riding and we won’t be covering much of the same ground twice in the weekend (unless you want to of course). There will be an easy way offered around all hard obsticals but it will not be the first choice. The pony express track should be marked out by then too.
It is around 450km from coffs, so 5 to 5.5 hours.
PM me your email address and I can email you a map of the place if you want. It’s a good map based on gps logs and the local topo map so you can see contours to gauge hills. You may be able to get it off the website too, I can’t remember.

March 8, 2011 at 8:45 pm #197873Hi BR.this weekend sounds ace,can you put me on the list please.Ive never riden west of the divide or on a motorcross track so Im really keen,I might even get to see some of this “dust” that you westies talk about. Is there a fridge/microwave?
Another OB is keen too but its along way from Coffs,he wants to know how much good single/enduro there is ,someone told him its flat out there, How big are the hills ?Is it worth the drive?
Either way im in.
Cheers EVMarch 8, 2011 at 9:30 pm #197886Ev,
The park is in the ranges. Once you get over the ranges (where I live) the flatness starts. We won’t be riding in the flat parts. The lowest point we will be riding is 500m above sea level and the highest is 1100m above sea level so we go up a bit. Put it this way there is a lot of 20m contours on the map. The whole place is aimed at the enduro rider. That is why there is only one group at a time. There are two MX tracks (one easy and one hard) but I wasn’t even planning on showing you them. They are just next to the quarters so people can do them to fill in time at the start and end of the day if they have the energy.
I know it’s a long way but I don’t think you will be disappointed. I’m not saying that every single minute will be exactly what you want. I travel to coffs for a two day ride and in a two day ride there are always sections that are the transport sections between the real good stuff. What I am saying is that there is more than enough great riding to be had that you won’t even remember the other bits.
It’s worth the drive and it’s definitely not flat. It’s on the eastern side of Narrabri.
I’m not stressed if you bring blokes who are not OBT. We can convert them.
March 8, 2011 at 10:17 pm #197874Nice sell BR,He’s keen,He will be bringing 2 bikes is there somwhere to lock the other one.We will arrive Fri 11ish.Is there a fridge?
EvMarch 8, 2011 at 10:49 pm #197900There is a fridge and all kitchen utensils, microwave, plates etc. There is also a cage to lock bikes in.

Now where have I read that before??? Just like my tent building skills hey ROY! I am getting a little nervous about this ride after hearing about the jumps Blue is making with the scraper tires we gave him! Very scary! Although the Teeter Totter has got me worried as well.
March 21, 2011 at 11:33 am #198202Righto Gents,
A fortnight to go to the big ride and I’m down to the fine tuning of the program. I have a couple of options for what I can do on the Friday but it depends on how many are coming and how hard they like it. It looks like there will be around 10-15 of us for the weekend with a few locals which is a good sized group. I know Ev and crew are getting there 11ish on Friday.
What are you girls from Tamworth doing. I figure you won’t be arriving until late Friday (ie leave after work) at the earliest.
One option requires registered bikes. Is all your crew registered Ev?
