Just read the bike theft story f….. scum thieves, any way i heard a story on the weekend at minikana of a group riding at freeflight then driving home, then bikes stolen, seems they think they were followed thats what the young bloke told me as they where his brothers bikes.
Also heard from a mate at work his brother has an enclosed trailer with sponsors and laps the block whenever he goes home just to make sure, sounds like a pain in the a.. but may be something to think off.

I have a sign over my shed door that says thieves beware of flying objects, with a picture of a rifle under it.

Have heard many similar stories from the road racing world as well.

One guy even goes as far as driving upto a good 50 or so kays out of his way, stopping at service stations, Maccas and whereever he can before getting home. He then puts the bike trailer in the garage, removes the bikes one by one and secures them separately and often will then move them the following day (and has done it super early in the morning) to his property.

But, whilst he seems paranoid he has had bikes stolen over the years and just developed this systemm

    Here’s another tip…

Travel below the speed limit. 10 kays should do it, 20’d be better;)

Has a two-fold effect. Following you at that speed without your knowledge should be quite difficult AND you’ll never get a speeding ticket! :cheer: Sure you’ll piss some people off, but THEY won’t be the ones pinching your bikes!

    Don’t ask how I know! mmmkay? ;)

(I’m sure if one does a search on the interwebs for counter- and anti-surveillance techniques, I’m sure there’d be plenty.)

Damn good idea as it would also soon be obvious is people were following you (assumning plenty of overtake opportunites) as they would either stay put or overtake, stop, rejoin, overtake, stop, rejoin etc.

Mind you, I doubt I would have that problems as after all, the might DR is hardly a major theft target (plus my dog would like thieves to death).

How about driving straight home, putting your bike in your own garage, and if it is gone the next day calling your insurance company?

I agree TB. First shot in thier chest and second one in the roof. When the cops turn up swap the order around, first shot went into the roof officer you know a warning shot and the second went into the burgular.

I’ve often wondered why people cover their cars and covered trailers with sponsors stickers drawing attention to themselves. If I ever find enough money in the couch to get an enclosed trailer I’ll be putting poodle breeder stickers on it :D

I’m always paranoid because my ute is a little different and gets parked on the street of a night so if someone sees the bike on it they’d know where to look but I just do what I can and rely on insurance for the rest.

A ‘person’ followed me home one day, stole my cr, then swapped it for drugs:angry:
Therefore I never got my bike back. the bike was uninsured.

they lived in the next street.

If some theiving bastard broke into my garage they would soon get distracted from the bike when they saw all the home brew. The greedy pricks would try and load 200 long necks into their car and probably put their back out and wake me and the neighbours.

    Perfect alarm system!
