It’s in the industrial area of Mackay. 125 motor crosser for my daughter. I’ve had 1 quote for nearly $700. I’m watching it on ebay still has a few days to go.picking it up from newcastle is not a problem thanks

June 6, 2010 at 9:22 am #181141hi Puds. give Milthorpe Transport
(02) 6033-4400.
a try, they have been the fairest price i have found. on a few occasions. they were about a 1/3 of the price of the bigger/known freight mobs.
their head office is down near me in Corowa but have depots from Cairns to Corowa and go all over the country.
but if you can get it dropped off and picked up from the depots they use, they are usually helpful and seem to take care of your goods while they handle them.
anyway only cost you a phone call to ask them where their closest depots are and go from there.

June 6, 2010 at 10:10 am #181144Thanks XY will give them a call tomorrow
June 6, 2010 at 10:18 am #181145Actually XY they dont, you will find the smaller companies like Milthope work together with other smaller companies which works well most the time. Some of them work in a Co-op arrangement
$700 is fairly cheap truth be known Pidds it will take over one pallet space because of its length and cat be just forked on and a strap thrown over it.
Give Millthorpes a ring for sure
I will know more tomorrow

June 6, 2010 at 10:29 am #181149thanks tb. I still have a couple of days to work something out
June 6, 2010 at 10:33 am #181152yeah cool will let you know tomorrow night
June 6, 2010 at 11:16 am #181154I’ve heard that if you can get one of the local shops to help out they can put it in a newly delivered bike’s crate and take advantage of the fact that bike transporters are already dropping in there plus with it in a crate you don’t necessarily need a bike transporter.

which bit do Milthorpe don’t?? TB, they don’t have depots? don’t take care of your gear? :S
just asking, but i think you are saying Milthorpe work in with others for depots, not having their own depots.
AB’s idea of reusing the bike box from a shop is a good one. but don’t the bikes come partially assembled? but well worth asking a shop they know if they can help with a box/pallet.
is it a full sized 125 or a small wheel one? give you/ transport company a better idea of if it will take up 1 or 1 1/2 pallet space on the truck etc.
i forgot to mention you could take a leaf out of TB’s book, catch the train up and ride it back! :woohoo:
. :silly: :silly:
