Hey Ollie, that’s one nice looking collection there, I’d take a photo of mine but you can’t see the bikes through all the crap, one day maybe.

    Cheers
    Chris.

Yeah I think it is the “J” Model,it was the pre Mono shock, had a good writeup in ADB recently.I bought one in 1987 whilst up in Darwin It was the easiest bike in the world to wheelstand  I used to run it on outboard fuel!!

From memory, the single shock pre monoshock was called cantilever suspension? We had a YZ400D (1976-77)that was the first single shock yammy. Shit that was a widow maker!!
I would love to get it back,I still know were it is, but the bloke won’t part with it and I know he will never do anything with it as far as restoring it goes.
I think Moose still has a YZ125D hidden away in one of his sheds. It is yellow with a steel tank and on the top of the forks there are these two big ugly gas cylinders.Moose never sells anything and has sheds full of bikes, some going some so dead you couldn’t afford to bring them back to life..

Gyday Mick,YZ400D They were wild bits of gear, had a powerband like an 80 on Viagara.I had a MX250c OH my god that was a scary mean muther f@#$ker of an engine but handled like a wheelbarrow full of Walruses:laugh: My mate bought it from me and grafted it into a yz125F frame, made a world of difference

    cheers Ollie

Wild bits of gear alright. My most vivid memory of the bloody thing was when I was a skinny 15 year old riding it up a rocky hill at Hungry Creek (blast from the past)and a bloke called Pele Granquist (God at the time) rode past me like I was sitting still and to this day I have never been roost on, like that in my life!!!
The old Tyco padded jersey from Northcott motorcycles did nothing as far as saving me and I was covered in welts like I had just lost at a game of paintball.

Hey Ollie how are you getting on with that IT250??
Moose just took delivery of a 1981 IT175 yesterday arvo, he got it and another one for spares of ebay,He needs some parts for it still to fix it proper, where would you reckon we look for them??
WE had it going yesterday arvo and were roaring up and down his road on it. I forgot how scary front drum brakes are!!

    TRY KTM BULL:laugh:

I think ebay would be your best bet for spares. I once had an IT175H wow what a machine it easily kept up with the Pentons and SWM’s with a reiability that was unheard of.

Pity they didnt stop:ohmy: I still have permanant scarring from cartwheeling one down a Nulla monster Hill:laugh:
