I don’t really see the point in it? A trials bike is lighter, all you’d need is a set of stunt pegs welded front and rear. It wouldn’t have 360 bar rotation but at 88Kg I can’t see that happening much anyway.

A 300cc Gas Gas only weigh 68Kg and would output heaps more torque.

It does look like fun though doesn’t it? :)

um i think if you have a closer look at the second last and last pics of the Air Tricker,> in the main batch of pics, not including the one with the development team, which is the last pic, sorry for any confusion <

you will see the bmx style brake “thingy” ( proper tech term u know! :silly: ) it allows 360ยบ rotation of the head stock / bars, and the last pic actually shows the bars facing backwards.

No I meant that a trials bike won’t have 360 bar rotation which could be viewed as a downside in comparison to the air trailer.

At 25% lighter and a bigger engine the trials bike would be a better choice I reckon.

They’re actually called the ‘tricker’ and ‘air tricker’ if you look closely ;)

    Trick looking bike too!

Moto, what makes a trials bike lighter? I don’t know much about them but I wouldn’t expect they’d have a full and proper gearbox would they?

I’m with Moto, while vertainly a beaut styling and execution of a “freestyle” bike, there is some beaut urban “Freestylers” already using the trial bikes as the base bike for their disclipline, excellent stuff on Utube if you look for it too.

They are lighter because they have less weight  I don’t know what specifically helps them stay light. They don’t have much other than wheels, tyres and and an engine! They have a full 6 speed box although the gearing is very low. I never used 1st al all and you could pull away in 4th pretty easily if you wanted.

My old bike would have been good for around 100Km/h flat out.

The bike pictured above is Gas Gas’ offering for 2010. This one is the ‘heavy’ 300 weighing in at 68Kg, you can get a spritely 250 for 66Kg or a 280 which seems to be the popular choice.

Mine’s a 350 2 smoker, like this one below (all the way from 1995 :P):

    1995JT35Right.jpg

“The 1995 model year saw the continuation of the dominance of Jordi Tarres in the Trial world championship races. The new 327cc JT35 model was introduced after extensive development in the hands of top GASGAS rider Joan Pons. The new case-reed-valve 327cc engine was without question the most powerful trial motorcycle produced by any manufacturer to date. In the hands of competent riders, GASGAS continued to win championships at all levels in many countries across the globe”.
